ioCross...Just FYI, Andy Segal is hardly some "random trick shot guy". He is the current WORLD CHAMPION. Sponsorship is very hard to come by, regardless of what type of pool you play. Congrats to Andy for securing one...even if it is a 'cheap' $100 cue.

Sorry, I have no info on this training aid(despite sounding like a paid endorser). I just happened to try one that a friend had. I don't even remember the exact name of it.

I am also in agreement with Scott Lee. Pool players should get what endorsements they can, as long as it does not conflict with their morals or ethics. If you happened to see one of these cues, you would agree that this company has made an honest effort to provide a cue that plays well for a reasonable cost. Nothing wrong with endorsing this product in my view. You will play much better with one of these cues than with most "house cues" that I've seen.

I think you could find a low end Mcdermott for w/ a lifetime warranty for close to the same cost. Or pick up an old stock canadian dufferin off ebay for half the cost.

I bought a low end, unwrapped, warrantied McDermott for about $150 for my home room (for those pitiful players who don't "bring their own"). The LiquidWick $99 cue plays just as well - seems to have the same playing characteristics - adequate for any player (pro or banger).

I have always felt that the Dufferin house cues are clunky (I have some in my home, but I have never seen a decent player choose one to play with over the other cues available).

Having said all of that, I don't believe that the products are in competition; the LW cues seem to be destined for the Walmarts and K-Marts of the world; and are definitely a step in the right direction of getting decent playing equipment into the hands of novice players. Despite all of the "arrow and Indian" analogies, I think players will play a bit better with a decent cue; they will enjoy it a bit more as well with a cue that looks presentable.

All I have to do to complete the unholy trinity in pool now is buy the natural cures book, watch Tim Miller instructional tapes, and use a Liquidwick cue.
