Live! Jesse Bowman vs John Morra

The guy just got beat like a teenage pen!s and all he asked to change was the table...how can you not give him a shot? Sounds like Jesse did everything he could to get some fair action. How can you expect a guy to not even be willing to switch tables when he has is 30 ahead in a total of about 8 hours.

Sorry this question wasn't meant to be answered by anyone but Jesse. Since he was the one calling people nits I just wanted him to clarify why he wanted to change from what they just did.

As a player myself but not nearly his level I wan't sure why he would not choose the table liked best for the first 3 sets?

It was honeslty I think a fair question since I'm sure if Jesse had won and Morra wanted to make changes they may not have come up with a game either.

Simply put why are they commited to give you a shot at your money back if nothing was agreed on at the start?

They aren't obligated, but its kinda gamblers ettiquite. Its not to say GIVE his money back, but a very tiny adjustment after winning 30 games seems fair...

Again, the gamblers ettiquite, Jesse showed plenty of gamble by losing 3 sets and asking to keeping playing, most would expect JM to show a little gamble in return by adjusting. Again, I know it may have been up to his backer and not JM's choice.

I'm not Jesse but I have an Idea about the table issue, the table they where playing on was in the bar and played goofy, the rails where extremely fast, the ball seemed to come off faster then it went in! When you couple that with Simonis it makes it hard to play mistake free. The reason they played on the table they did was to accommodate the spectators and Terry (who was live streaming the action). Just my $.02.

he didnt call john a nit! just curtis who we know as good as anyone!

So rather than ask the guy for a spot playing 9 ball or 10 ball like he probably should of done all he asks for is to either play a different game or go across the river to a different room? I would lay any one in here fantastic odds if Jesse said lets go play so 9 ball on the big table John and Curtis would have jumped out of there chairs and yelled tails, with that being said how do you not say someone wasn't being a nit?

for Jesse Bowman

ok i never post here but here is what happened we agreed to play a set of 9 ball and a set of 10 ball for 1k apeice john tortured me then we played a set of 8 ball which took longer than other sets for 1k jon won that.then i asked to play another set of 8 ball for same amount or more whatever they wanted they refused. then i said i would play a set of 9 ball and a set of 8 ball for 1k a set or more if they wanted they refused.then i said i would play the same exact game all 3 sets 1k apeice or more but all we had to do is play on a different table and once again he refused.
Response from Curtis:
First of all you did say that you'd play another set of 9-ball and a set of 8-ball, but not just on another table -- you wanted to go play at your dad's place. That wasnt the agreement.

The agreement was to play all 3 sets again, which you never did.

So who's being a nit?

Response from John Morra:
We're coming back thru in a week, so put up 5k. We'll play all 3 sets again (8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball) on the barbox and a set of 9-ball and set of 10-ball on the big table, 1k per set

So practice up and don't take the kid lightly again.

P.S. Curtis said no hard feelings. It aint personal, it's just business.

Thanks, this is information we hadn't heard.

Let's turn it around. If Jesse had won and Morra wanted to play on the big table to try to get even I'm sure Jesse wouldn't jump at that action.

Simply both players need to like the game to agree not just the guy that's the home town favorite and stuck money.

This to me is pool at it's best, so much drama! I wish I could be there next week when they roll through!! I hope someone streams whatever goes down!

I just hope that beating lit a fire in Jesse and he is getting his stroke on and squeezes them right back. He has too much game not to put it to good use.

While you are at it Jesse, get them into a set of 1-pocket.

I think a person can jump on the nit wagon the minute they gamble with other peoples money and then say they are gambling. I love seeing the big tough guy, I'll play anyone for $20,000, posts on here etc. Pony up your own cash so we can see changes to the anyone list.

Sounds like John is out getting experience and these sets will give him that, both in playing the game and road. I would be more interested in hearing they played all night for $20's, jumped tables, changed games, balls, rules or even locations than having a backer stop the action. Too me, these guys had too many request and not enough of their own cash. Then again, I'm a nit for using my own money:thumbup:

Post #25 says Jesse lost one set of 8 ball.

Post 25 also says that John was willing to play all 3 games again, as they had started to do in the first place. Why is it that you feel John should be required to change the game to benefit Jesse instead of just playing another cycle of the games they had agreed to play from the start to give Jesse a chance to get his money back.

John did not quit Jesse on the game they agreed to play, Jesse wanted to change the action and John wanted to keep playing the cycle of games they had originally agreed to.

If a person was to play a agreed set of 9-ball and 1-pocket against Frost and managed to win the first set of each game do you feel that the person should now feel obligated to play nothing but 1-pocket against Frost? Because that is EXACTLY what you are claiming John should have been willing to do.

*Edit* Having read on further post 53 by Jesse where he actually offered the same action with the only thing different being a new table does make the skipping town questionable by that point, Jesse was pretty open to playing it would seem and John seems like he was smelling some game coming back to Jesse and that makes him an underdog. If he was offered the cycle of games again and THEN refused that is pretty nitty, no doubt about that.

Rule number 1 of gambling: There basically are no rules unless agreed upon ahead of time.

With that being said. John and Corp. are not required to do anything at all. Neither is Jesse. It sounds like John had a good chance to take Jesse off pretty good had he agreed to Jesse's offer but chose not to for whatever reason. After all is said and done, nobody is right, nobody is wrong. Hopefully they match up again and play their best. That would be some good viewing.

This does not sound like anything Johnny would say at all. I would assume the last quote is NOT from John.

I agree thats not John. And if it is John dont tell him to practice then you are just throwing your money away. Best bet would be to tell him to stay at home dont practice ill be back in a week:thumbup: But with all the drama now you might have lit a fire under his a** The window is open if they do play again i like Jesse in 9ball and 8 ball
