LIVE Scoreboard at World 8ball Pool in Dubai

The media all over the world is covering this event, every print media except the United States, with the strong exception of Billiards Digest and AzBilliards. Ronnie Alcano's name is like front-page news in many newspapers today for doing well in this tournament.

I was trying to muster up some info about this Chinese player that Shane is up against, Haitao Liu. I can't find much about him, other than this picture.

I don't know if this is the same Liu. The headline reads: LIU HAITAO OF CHINA WINS MEN'S SINGLE KAYAK 1,000M TITLE AT ASIAN GAMES

Must be a different one. :o

Looks like Superman is trying to come back. He's got 4 games to Ronnie's 7.

Does anybody know who this player is?

Also, does anyone know who this player is? I am trying to put a name to the picture on Azbilliards Photo Gallery for this event. Some of the pictures have no names.

On a side note, there were sightings of Efren and Django in Japan. Here's a quote from a different forum:

"Three days before the start of the tournament, I saw Efren Reyes waiting for a train at the Akasaka train station in Central Tokyo. He told me, him and his companions are playing in a tournament in Kanagawa, Japan and they are billeted in a hotel nearby. He was later joined by Django, and after a few minutes with another Pinoy companion, who I didn't recognized. They boarded a train bound for Kanagawa."

Here's another picture. Does anybody know who this player is?

So Shane is playing the Chinese Kayaker? Wow, he is a real sportsman, plays pool professionally and also wins kayak races.

Ronnie Alcano on the hill, 9 to 5. Poor Superman will be knocked out by his own countryman.

In the next round there will be a very interesting match between the reigning world 9-ball champion Daryl Peach and the runner-up Roberto Gomez or the former 9-ball champion and reigning 8-ball world champion Ronnie Alcano ! What would you prefer? I'm looking forward to this match with impatience ; )
