Iam glad you appreacate richards attention to detail, alot of cuemakers hate that richard started doing these fancy caps now everyone demands them on fancy cues. and he gave your buisness a boost. cause alot of cuemakers hate doing them!!!

Hi Alton,

Just got the Caps, thx they are beatiful(as awalys).

Please let me know when your ready to start another set. I will go pick a cue and take pics(or send the butt to you). I'm not in a hurry, there is no rush. I just love your work so much.

I think Alton should get some recognition from the cuemakers association or something, he is the best in the cap trade. He is the iceing on millions of $$$ of cues. Thats a pretty good accolaide and achievement.

Are you comming to VF this year? I missed last year due to some problem,

Best
eric

The overall design of these cues is just sick! The ringwork is outstanding! Please post more photos of the "little brother". Then ship both to my house! (I wish!)

These two cues demonstrate Richard's mastery of cue craftsmanship and artistic design. Very current and edgy.

His election to the cuemakers' hall of fame is so justified when you see work like this.

Nice job Richard Black!

Richard is and always has been tops in my book and this shows why!

Fancy cues do deserved to be top with fancy caps to begin with. Either keep up with thrend or out.

Though I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of tribal tattoos, there is a
Huge part of me that finds this cue attractive. While I don't know
If I would have invested the kind of money I'm sure you likely wound up
Spending on this, the results are awesome!!! Shows how little I know.

Can you post some close-ups? I'd love to see some handle shots. There's some
Unbelievable silver work in there. And while these pics work, I'm not
Entirely sure it shows the details too well. Close-ups would help.

I love the ringwork around the joint too. Awesome use of the tribal influence in a
Sort of abstract, not-so-standard way. The tibal effect is there, but subtle.

Frankly, I haven't seen a cue with that kind of carving detail. It really is
Utterly amazing. Soooo outside the box. I'm sure
Getting Richard to do that cost quite a bit. But the end result
Looks incredible so I guess it was a solid invesment. I'm sure
You are a very happy camper!!! Great cue!!!

Sorry to be the only naysayer, but this looks like a Poison (or some other gimick) cue. Not at all my cup of tea.

I have to agree with Buster. Maybe its just the pics, but the inlays don't really look all that spectacular. The silver is cool but the overal design just doesn't look that great. JMO.

The Real Deal

I can tell you that the photos do no justice to these cues. I saw them in person and believe me, they are impressive.

I am a die-hard fan of points on a cue, but these two cues changed my view on that.

Sometimes it is tough for non-cuemakers to appreciate the level of effort that has gone into a cue and its inlays.

Beware: If you see these cues in person, you will have an irresistable urge to write a check and take them home.

They are that good.

I wish i could photograph these better but iam working on it as we type, these are one of the most incredible set ive seen

In my opinion only, I doubt this very much.

My father is a master woodworker so I can appreciate the delicate work involved and the hours on labor needed to make something like this come to life. I also know Richard Black to make a very fine cue and I like most of his work. But this cue, to me, is only about dollar signs. It is ugly. I mean no offense to the original poster or to Mr. Black. In fact, I shouldnt be typing this. But it is, what it is.

this was my inspration and richard made it come to life, i seen the tatoo on many peoples arms and thought that would make great ring work, and Richard took my thought and went one step further!! this imn my opiunion is a stunning and delacate cue with alot of muscle!!!

i have come to the conclusion that cues are just about impossible to photograph. Diamonds(not pool tables) are very difficult as well. there might be 1 or 2 cues out of 100 that look as good in pics as they do in real life. I havent seen one cue that looked worse in real life than the picture.

thats a cool cue bill, call me sometime.
