yes, most agree you should be looking at the object ball last. others argue the opposite. i've tried it both ways, and looking at the cue ball last is far and away the best option for me.

Russ Chewning said:People, people, people, people. Those of us that know DCP know that he isn't actually planning on taking anyone's advice if they are actually saying he has to practice a shot.
Russ Chewning said:He wants a "quick fix" for every tough shot or position. He never responds to anyone who suggests he should practice a shot he has trouble.
Russ Chewning said:Just figured I'd let you all know, lest you waste your time with him.

With that said, you still have the 7 and the breaks, DcP. I'll even come to your table to do it, say race to 7 or 9 for a couple hundred.

Read ALL the post that might pertain to getting your game up. Don't just glance thru them, READ them. See what knowledge you can glean. The knowledge given for free on here just in the last 6 months could fill a good size book! USE IT! But all the knowledge in the world won't bring your game up one iota if you don't practice!

People (including myself) tend to drop their elbow, move their shoulder forward, and come up from their stance when shooting harder.

This single element will forever limit your ability to mediocre. You should always watch the object ball. There are only a very limited number of occassions when it is OK to watch something besides the object ball: the break shot (some people do watch the cue ball); a masse shot (and maybe certain jump shots)(again watching the cue ball); or a kick shot (watching the rail contact point).DrCue'sProtege said:i keep my eye on the cueball vice the object ball all the time anyway. i aint hitting the object ball, i am hitting the cue ball. hopefully right at the precise point i am aiming for.

however, most agree its whatever is best for you. and most agree that if you align properly, aim properly, and stroke properly you can be watching the blonde in the 4th row and the shot will be successful.
