It has recently become clear as day, that long sessions and i do not mix.
I have always had issues with playing for a long time, but recently, it seems that whenever i match up, i am getting chopped up in what used to be matches where i dominated, or evenly matched contests.
It's not like i am getting tortured due to dogging it, or being nervous as i have gambled enough in my lifetime to not really care about that, but simply because of the % of shots that i miss out of nowhere that i am supposed to make, due to severe cramping or the high number of sellouts when i can't dial in speed wise, due to my arm just blasting away with no regard for what my brain is telling it.
Which in turn translates into LACK of confidence on my part and opponent confidence, and a hole i have to dig myself out of as a result.
I take vitamins, i drink sports drinks when available, but it just seems that as i am getting older, this problem is becoming more and more prevalent.
A typical evening is where i start off great, and i am playing JAM UP, and then little by little after a few hours, I'll get a cramp here and there, and in turn, I'll miss a key shot, and sell the farm as a result.
It gets so bad, that my bridge fingers cramp up, and my calf muscles, and even my triceps and biceps on my stroking arm, which completely dials me OUT of everything.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to deal with this?
I exercise regularly, and i NEVER have a problem with cramping while doing that.
It's ONLY when i play pool. I dunno. Maybe due to certain positions being locked into or something.
I feel like a Pete Sampras of pool, in that i am capable of playing very high level pool, and it's just annoying that when it starts to lengthen out, it turns into a different type of challenge as i almost always have this cramping issue to deal with on top of my opponent firing back when they sense i can't cut it.
Before anyone asks, i typically don't eat a ton while playing. That usually sends me into a food coma which is WORSE then the cramping, so it's a pick your poison type of deal. I do eat, it's just i don't stuff my face.
This is one of the reasons i quit playing in weekend events back in the day cause it would be pot luck if had fatigue/cramping issues or not, and i can't tell you how many times i drove to some far of tournament, only to play phenomenal, and as the day went on and the matches got more difficult, i would just flush myself down the toilet after positioning myself to do well.
Which ended up being a huge waste of money.
