Im looking for an up and coming cue maker to make me a cue. Any suggestions...
Thanks for your input,
Ben

In your part of the country Mike Webb is a very good cue maker. He is out of Rhode Island.

I really like Leon Sly's work and he is reasonably priced. I would also consider Cory Barnhart, Keith Josey, Wayne Holmes, and Rick Howard. i know Webb, Josey, and Holmes have websites. YOu may want to check out their work online.

It really depends on how much you want to spend, what style, and what type of hit you are looking for from a cue.

Or Varney!!!!

Sorry I left you off my list!:p

Kevin I ended up with a Gilbert Jump/Break with one of your laminated J/B shafts from Dom C. It jumps and breaks absolutely great. I would love to try one of your players one day too.

J&D custom cues

I would speak with Jim Lee of J&D custom, which is his handle here on AZB. Nice guy to speak with, reasonable pricing, and some really nice work. CHeck him out, and his posts to see his work. Here is one I am getting from him in the next 6 days:

To be honest for the money you cant go wrong with Greg Sirca, Dave Albrecht makes a nice cue also and is affordable. :)

Ben,
What style of cue and what sort of budget? You have been given a lot of real good, affordable cuemakers by the folks who have already listed on here. The only thing that I would do is try to figure who best fits the style cue that you want and the budget...that will eliminate several.

Tony gets my vote

If you can get Tony Zinzola to make you a cue I would go that way. His points are long, sharp and tight. He also has been putting together some great color combinations with his cues.

Of course if you went another way any of the alread mentioned cuemakers would make you a great playing cue.

I definately would not consider Mr. Webb as an "up and coming cuemaker".

I never said Mike was up & coming
He is already there.

And Mike's pricing is more than reasonable for the great quality you get from him.
Also is one of the best Guy's you could ever deal with.

Mike Webb is already there and Tank is correct. You can not beat the quality of his work, he is a great guy to work with, and his prices are way to low.

I definately agree with you.

I only said that because the thread starter is looking for an up and coming cuemaker to make him a cue.

thank you all for your responses and i appreciate your input. I know alot more about cues and what i like vs what i dont now then when i ordered my first custom cue. There are several viable options that have been put forth here and i will look into them.
Thanks,
Ben

Leon Sly gets my vote I have one of his and one in the making he makes a fine cue at a good price.
