I thought I would join in the fun with a few pics of my room.
This was the main reason for purchasing this house. I wanted a pool room for a long time as this is what my dad and I really enjoy.
He taught me the game and I wanted a nice place for us to play.

Yes, that is driftwood. We dragged it from one end of Morris Island in South Carolina when I lived in Charleston. We scraped off the crud and finished it.
I thought it was a unique piece and have loved it since then. That was in 1980.

That's what I thought it was. Its a helluva focal point. I notice it more then the table. Great design you have there.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. The room is important to me and glad I can share how it turned out with a group that can appreciate it.

Working on designing my own home and I have seen a couple of ideas I really like in your pictures.
Awesome layout and thanks for posting the incredible pictures.

Didn't mean to get everyone off the subject, so here is a picture of some friends that came over to play pool at my house .... LOL

Linda, if you come to my house to play, you will have to play my daughter (10 yr old) a game of "goofy ball" to retain your queendom in the Portland metro area.
The rules are simple, you must bank all the yellow (minnie) balls, straight shoot all the red (mickey) balls, while my daughter only has to chase the black (goofy) ball. Also she doesn't have to call her shot.;)

As for my pool room, I apologize for the poor photos (diabetic induced photography). The original poster requested some design ideas, so I thought I'd share mine.

The wall paper border comes from a company called York in York, Pa item number NV9614B R-04. I've found this pattern useful in working out "spot on the wall" shots

The mirror has been fairly effective in practicing cross side "mirror" shots

The cue rack and the table light were custom made to match the table in finish by my friend and master cabinet maker/table mechanic Dave Randall of Bigfoot Billiards in Troutdale, Oregon 503-680-2314

The table itself is a 1955-1959 era 9' Brunswick Sport King model that Dave customized by changing the aprons to cherry wood with matching finish to the table/light/rack. The pocket castings were brass plated by the previous owner. Dave set the corner pockets up at 4 3/8 openings .
The cloth is Simonis 860, camel color.

I looked a long time before acquiring this particular table as the tables in my local pool hall as a kid were Sport kings, as were the tables I played on while stationed in Germany while in the Army, as well as the tables I hustled the local college kids on at the college rec room when I returned home from the army. I was fortunate to find a table of this era as I was born in 1957.

I left the formica railtops un-restored because I wanted the feeling of the history of a table the same approximate age as myself.

Before I forget Linda, Asia says you can have the break:p

I am a new member to this forum. Here is a picture of my pool room at home. I did it all myself and enjoyed every minute of it.
Welcome to the forum.
That is a very nice set up you have and the details look awesome.
Now you just have to let us know where you are located so we can stop by and play.

Thanks for posting the picture.
