Looking for some AZ help.

Winston-Salem to Raleigh

The halls I'm listing I will vouch for as being good caliber for a tourney and ones that have held tourneys, although some are larger and can handle bigger fields. I'm not sure of the exact type and quantity of tables at some, so for anyone that can elaborate on the tables, please do.

THE BEST POOL HALLS FROM WINSTON-SALEM TO RALEIGH

WINSTON-SALEM

Break Time Billiards & Sports‎
420 Jonestown Road, Winston Salem, NC 27104-4675 (336) 765-7391‎
Owned by none other than Frank Tulles. Holds quality tourneys. Tables? 9’ers.

GREENSBORO

Breakers Sportsclub and Billiards
5605 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410-4253 (336) 852-8777‎
10 9’ers: 7 GCIII, 3 Diamonds.
Earl’s former hall. My home hall. Great hall and owners.

Gate City Billiards
6004 Landmark Center Blvd 336-856-8800
14 GCIV’s, 3 Diamond 7’ers
@ 2 years old. Real nice & very comfortable hall.

SHOOTERS
3808-A High Point Rd
Greensboro, NC 27407
Phone: 336.852.1448, Fax: 336.851.2432
10 Diamond ProAm 7' bar boxes, 3 Diamond ProAm 9' with tight pockets, 5 AMF 9' tables, 1 Gold Crown IV 9', and 1 Diamond Professional 9'
A little seedy, an eclectic mix of tables, but still a decent hall with a lot of history.

HIGH POINT

Sharky's Bar and Billiards 2619 S Main Street High Point 336-889-2541
(I'm least familiar with this hall)

RALEIGH

Brass Taps
3316 Capital Boulevard, Raleigh, NC 27604-3367(919) 876-2382‎
IIRC, they have @ 16 GCIII’s. Big, nice, serious players. Lots of history.

Babineau’s
1102 Buck Jones Rd, Raleigh 919-467-5411
Nice. Holds serious events including qualifier for US Am. Food. Guessing there’s @ 14 9 footers. GC’s.

*Going a little further east from Raleigh you'll also note the strong halls of Fast Eddies in Goldsboro and King Street Billiards in Fayetteville. Thought I'd make a footnote on these two even though Joe you asked for Winston to Raleigh.

Nice list koolkat, Thank you.

It's now mandatory to post your local rooms IFFF you've ever read a thread on Aiming!;)

Come on folks we all live somewhere.

Wish I could be of some help....but I live in middle Vermont. I know of only 2 places within 30 miles that have more than 1 table....and all are barboxes. one has 2 tables and one has 4.....

Grand Rapids only has 3 rooms, of which one is all bar tables. Kalamazoo has one room, Holland now has two rooms which are mostly bar boxes. Lansing I don't know for sure but heard it only has one room left. Muskegon, as far as I know, hasn't had a room for a number of years now.

We don't have squat up here.

Hey Neil, looks like your squat will do the trick. Could you look at this map and give me like 8 selections.

Joe, if we need more rooms per area, you might include Saskatoon, Sask too.
Yes I know we have weird names for our cities in Canada.
S'toon is a bit larger population wise and they have some nice rooms too.
Theres a poster on AZ (DaveK) good player and good guy who might be willing to help out in his neck of the woods.
About 150 miles from Regina so traveling for a tourney isn't that bad for most of us.
Flatland, the most boring drive in your life, nothing but wheat fields and cows for 150 miles.

We can do that, thanks.

Louisiana

I've emailed Joe about the pool halls in the Louisiana area and hope that every state and city that Joe has listed will have at least one AZBer who will post the potential pool halls that fit his criteria.

Thanks for helping out a family man and a professional player who truly loves pool.
