Looking for tubes to ship cues. Can anyone recommend where to buy nice heavy duty tubes & good prices?

Look under Shipping in the Yellow Pages.

Even in our small city, we have a shipping outlet where you can purchase any type of shipping container.

I live in a very small town where tubes are not available. For our Gold Member cues I use the Triangular box for Priority Mail that you get for free at the Post Office. Wrap the cue in Bubble-wrap (Wal-Mart) and we have never had one dinged or harmed in any way.

Although I prefer PVC with turned wooden caps that are fixed in place with screws there is something to be said for the triangle boxes....they will not roll away and get lost!

You can order the 36" triangle "tubes" Jerry mentions on the USPS site. I just received a package of 20 and they are free of charge and delivered to your door.

you guys are nuts

Go through the flooring store trash can, carpet and flooring rolls use heavy wall car board tubes.

Take a hand saw and tape measure :thumbup2:

I go to Home Depot and buy either 3" or 4" PVC pipe in 10' length and have them cut it into 3 separate sections (each like 33" or 34"). They also sell end caps that fit nice and snug that I simply duct tape on. I do this for international shipments or when shipping a cue worth over $2k.

Otherwise I get a cheap tube that will fit inside a USPS triangle pack. This also works great.

Damned right! Makes it easier to find those damaged cues,,,

This!

PVC costs almost as much as cardboard tubes but you can run em over with a truck and there is barely a nick. Use em for all my cue shipments now.

Call Seybert's and ask where they get their cardboard tubes. The tubes they ship in are rigid.

PVC pipe is inexpensive and super strong. If you're worried about it rolling away, when you duct tape the caps on, just put something under the tape in one spot so it won't roll.

FedEx will provide 36" triangle boxes for free to account holders. I used to ship my cue in an old cheap aluminum cue case but Laurie Franklin from Southwest convinced me to change to the FedEx box and some bubble wrap.

No problems so far and much less expressive due to the free boxes and less weight from not shipping the case.
