Feel free to elaborate if you wish, but who wins a long race for the big cash:

Tony Watson or Shawn Putnam?

Edit: Just assume the match is not fixed.

Another edit: My spelling of the word "opinion" in the thread title was purely intentional:D.

It depends on Tony's "mixture" and whether he spent the previous night with more than one hooker. FWIW, I wouldn't bet on anything Tony is involved in. He's the poster boy for what's wrong with pool.

I agree. I also think that if his mixture is perfect, he only plays even with Shawn.

I've seen both play and know both very well. If Tony watson is at the top of his game (1998-2003) Tony gets it for the cash.

Tony. I don't think shawn could fade Tony "makes it look effortless" game. The longer the set and bigger the bet seperates them even more. IMO

I would love to see Tony on a Tar match. there are very few players more fun to watch.

It's a coin flip really. Depends on which direction his brains are spinning

I thought the title said onion ;)
Speaking of onion I was just in the cafeteria at work. I got two hotdogs with my usual chili, slaw, hot sauce, onion, banana peppers, mustard and ketchup. When I paid I saw a diced onion on my plate and went to pop it in my mouth at the same time she gave me my quarter in change. I threw the quarter in my mouth and tried to keep my cool the best I could, but I was caught in the middle of being dumb.

Tomorrow..... sadly it's shawn. Tony hasnt been playing well lately he's even lost to Keith bennett, not to take away from Keith's game, but thats not supposed to happen.

I see T just about every week and I can tell you that you are wrong

I like Shawn for two reasons...
1-if I bet on Shawn, I get a horse that's trying
2- Shawn made it to the finals of the US Open...that is out of Tony's range

...OINIONs make me cry

Regardless of the mixture, Watson gets the cash. He has always been a great money player. Shawn doesn't have any gamble in him, he is a tournament player.

There is nothing wrong with being a tournament player or a gambler but they are two different animals and for big cash, I don't think Shawn could pull it off. Of course that is just my onion amongst many others. :D

It's also my opinion, great post!

I think it is a matter of the game they are playing. If they play 9 ball, I think Shawn can hang and possibly take Tony off. Playing 10 ball, I believe Tony is the favorite.

Tony can't spell onepocket..... or many other words for that matter.:)

Why do you think that is? The break? (I ask, because Shawn has a respectable break.)

On a different note, I wonder how Shawn's game would stand against, say, Mike Painter in full lip gallup? :p :D

I think (know) Tony has a better 10 ball break and he is a better shot maker. I have watched Tony play many 10 ball sets (betting both on and against) and I have him clocked pretty good.

Shawn has a very good 9 ball break and that will be neutralized playing 10.
