Lost my Dad

I'm very sorry to hear that, SOL. My condolences to you. I know how you must be feeling. It's coming up to 17 years since I lost my dad & 20 since my mom went. It's true the hurt does lessen after awhile & you'll always have your memories to treasure.

My dad & I used to have some great games of pool together, although he would always insist he was better than me!

Your dad sounds like a wonderful father and I am deeply sorry for your loss. You were truly blessed to have such a great dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Just posting as a memorial to my father who passed away the other night. He was my pool mentor and taught me how to bank, draw a cue ball and just generally got me interested in the game at a young age. Even when his health was declining he would always try to show up to watch me take down a tournament. I can't think of one enemy he had in life. He will be missed.

He had a good long life and at least one child who loved him. Who can ask for more?
Condolences.
Steve.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and sympathy. You proved once again that this is so much more than just a pool forum.

My deepest condolences. My dad was a similar mentor and inspiration to me when I was just beginning to appreciate how wondrous pool really is, so I know exactly how you feel.

I feel your pain and you have my prayers. My father passed away this Thursday 1/25/2007 at 7:20 AM. He was laid to rest the same day by 2PM. I was up with him the whole night as I have done on many nights this past month. May he rest in peace.

A persons deeds are done when he passes from this life. Except for three things:

Charity that he has given in life.
Knowledge that he has given to others.
A good child(ren) who pray for his forgivness.

Peace to all.
