Lost to a Girl

Sounds like to me that you took the entire match for granted just because you were playing a girl. This caused you to underestimate your OPPONENT and you got beaten. Chalk it up to experience to never ever ever underestimate anyone when you are playing them and move on. If you just cant live with the fact that you were beaten by a girl, I suggest that you take 2 weeks off completely away from pool......and then when the 2 weeks are up.......QUIT FOREVER.

Southpaw

Lol

No, but it happens. Normally, you would be a 5 before a 2 pack came along.

I played a '3' once in short rack 8 ball. (racked like 9 ball). She broke and ran. I broke dry, she ran. She broke and ran. match over. I was going to 8.

Someone had taught her to break the right way, which made her dangerous for a 3. If Roxy wasn't so darn good looking, I might have gotten upset.

Are you questioning losing to a 4
Losing to a girl
or losing to a girl 4?

They all would smack you in the pride. I am sure.

There are quite a few girls out there I am hoping to lose to:

Laura L being one of them. Ga Young already smacked me in the pride button. I got the crap kicked out of me by her before she was a name (way before she was on the tour). I just could not stop racking or looking at that booty in those short shorts she was wearing. I also could not stop smiling!!

Since you lost to a girl, please follow directions below:

1. No longer use "Mr." and correct anyone that does when referring to you.
2. Quit drinking coffee for tea and hold your pinky out when you do.
3. In disagreement, say, "Whatever" and roll your eyes.
4. Get more minutes on your cellphone plan.
Don't forget...
5. Start going to the bathroom in groups. Will often have to make requests like, "let's go to the bathroom" and then take a handbag when you go.

6)change your name to NANCY:D

Female Players

I'm an APA SL7. and a female. And i can't stand sandbagging, Here where I live it's a big thing. But if she isnt playing to her full potentional rather it be an off night or not. the system the APA uses works if you keep accurate innings and def. shots. complaining about it will do you no good. It will just piss you off more and more you think about it. Let it go and move on. And you being a SL6 and that crap bother you. maybe you need to work on your head game a more. just remember you are NOT playing the person you ARE PLAYING THE TABLE. :o

Ok, I know it shouldn't matter but I guess I still have some issues about losing a match to a girl. :) :)

She was a 4 but could (should) have been a high 5 or a low 6. This girl could play.

She ran two racks and I got frustrated and scratched on the eight ball once......match over........

I only won three games. I'm a 6 (APA 8 ball)

Should 4's being running multiple racks?

Suck it up Princess.... Around here there are plenty of women that can run racks.

Maybe you missed the part where I said this..........

"I'm not mad, shook her hand and bought her a drink. :)"

Sometimes I wonder how many smiley faces you have to put in a post before people actually get it.

I was a little surprised at her talent level, it was much better than her rating. And it was no flunk or luck running the two racks, she was good and I have no problem with her being good, it's her rating that gives me pause.

I can understand it a little because people around here tend not to mark safeties, lay-ups, hooks, whatever term you want to use. The problem may come for her when her team advances to the regionals.

Wow. You're absolutely right.

I didn't miss it, I just chose to give you a hard time. The fact that you started a thread about it showed it still had you a bit miffed.:D :D :D

It's all good.

P.S. they can't beat you if they're sitting down.

Did you happen to see how many matches she had played? Her Member Number compared to other's? She might have been a brand new player, lost a couple of matches because of nerves, and now she's getting back in her groove.

There are a HUGE number of things going on behind the scenes that you might not be aware of. Just because she's a 4 doesn't mean she can't run racks. I'm a 5 in 9-Ball and I've ran 3 racks in a row. I was shooting awesome that night, I felt like I couldn't miss.

It happens. Don't automatically assume someone's sandbagging because you got beat. There might be other things happening, and you will sure feel like an ass if you accused her of cheating when she's not.

OH, and get used to it because if you haven't been beaten by a woman yet it's because you obviously haven't been playing that long!

LMAO, thanks Jude...my day just got better :D

Hey! There's nothing wrong with drinking tea! Although you'll never see me drinking it while I'm playing. It's either beer or beer.

I've played 2 women in our league recently & lost both games. Sure, one was a scratched 8 ball but a loss is a loss. First time I've lost to women in matches before but so what? If anyone plays well & wins they deserve it. I would be a little surprised at seeing 2 break & runs though from that SL, I guess her handicap is gonna go up.

I played in an event in Phoenix 10 years ago and while they were calling the matches, I heard I drew a girl. Semi-excited, I headed to my match thinking I had a semi-bye. I lost the toss, the first rack went back and forth and I lost it. The next thing I knew it was 8-0 (maybe 8-1, I forget). I then realized I would never pre-judge someone's ability by their sex. Not sure of her name, maybe Nicole McCue? Yes, McCue. How's that for a pool last-name?

I think there's nothing cooler than a chick who can play really well. The next single, cute one I meet I'm marrying her.

well, on the bright side, she beat a great player and running those 2 racks in a match was probably a big deal to her. I bet you would win in a race to 9. get her next time.

Seriously, every woman I play regularly has wins against me as I have against them. I admit, most of these women are current or former WPBA members.

For a good stretch, I was playing a bunch of them for 20 push-ups. Oh and for the record, I never played Jenn Barretta for push-ups though that would have made a great story considering what she lifts.

You're playing women for an even number of push-ups?? [Nelson Muntz voice] HA-HA! [/Nelson Muntz voice] :D (J/K) :)

I always suck it up and try to be as gracious as possible when a chick beats me. I figure, all's not lost - maybe I can teach them something about sportsmanship. :D

It's not about the number of push-ups but more about DOING push-ups in the middle of a crowded poolroom. Trust me, it's worth more than $50 sets.
