Keith Freeman, from New Orleans, Louisiana, was badly injured in a motorcycle accident yesterday. Keith is a great player that plays out of Corner Pocket, Jamie Ferrel's room.

Please keep Keith in your prayers. We are trying to get an update on his condition and whether or not he needs any financial assistance.

Here is a video of him playing Mika Immonen. (sorry, not my best production)

He has had numerous injuries to his back and ribs with head trauma. He has not yet regained consciousness.

As a fellow cyclist, he will remain in my thoughts.

Fellow motorcyclists, wear your helmets; your life is worth it.

:(

So sorry to hear this... He will be in all of our thoughts and prayers I'm sure! Please keep us updated!

Thanks Ray,
Amanda

I hope Keith pulls thru this !

Ricky P told me he was in a coma....Hope he comes out of it...As a fellow rider...He will be in my prayers !

I do not these people personally but I will indeed keep them in my prayers as well. It is always sad to hear about such tragic events.

Keith is a great kid. I'm waiting to hear when he gets out of intensive care to go visit. Hoping for the best........

i wish him the best, I have a friend who was in a coma for a month-moter cycle accident too. He has never been the same since , but people do survive comas and I pray that Keith will and make a full recovery.

I used to ride myself, and I know that life can change in a blink. Good vibes going out to everyone going through this difficult time.

Ray thanks for the post. Keith is a great guy and a very good pool player. Ray as soon as I hear anything else I will call you and let you know. I have been trying to stay in touch with some of his friends and get as much info as possible. I will keep him in my prayers as well as Steve's family as someone else posted earlier. Thanks again.

Ditto on being a former rider. As much as I desire to get back on one, I've resisted due to unfortunate and tragic accidents like these here. There's simply some traffic instances you have no control over, regardless of defensive precautions.

I'm sending out my best to Keith and Steve's family. Those in the know - please post updates. Fight on through Keith!!! Fight on through Mrs Steve!!!

Thanks to Ray and 8up for putting this out there so hopefully our collective prayers and well wishes can make a difference.

Thanks Glenn!

Fellow AZers,

Please continue praying for Keith and Steve's wife and family.

I just watched the video that Smokey posted up. I wept thinking about the cost of freedom and the sacrifices that the men and women of our Armed Forces make each day so we may enjoy our motorcycles, pool and many other freedoms. Be sure and include our troops in your prayers too.

As a former rider myself, I can completely sympathize.. Praying for recovery..

I no longer ride for this exact reason.. I've seen too many brothers and sisters die from accidents, usually caused by someone else!

MoJoe,
I've long thought about getting another bike. My family is grown and everyone is self-reliant now so I had thought about getting a bike and doing some traveling around the country for the fun of it. Accidents like this constantly pop up and unfortunately more frequently than they did when I was much younger.

I believe the increase in motorcycle accidents is more than just my awareness of them and that it is simply the increased traffic on the highways that is causing the increase in Motorcycle accidents. The number of automobiles and trucks increases every year and that is not a good thing for the unprotected cyclists.

When I used to ride, I would race ahead of traffic or hang far back in traffic. Now, there seems to be no place to go where you can be relatively safe. Just too much traffic, especially around the larger cities.

I have heard about more motorcycle accidents in the past ten years than in any past ten years that I can remember. :frown:

Just checked in at the hospital. Keith is still in ICU and only relatives can obtain information about his status (coma, condition etc).

Please continue prayers for Keith Freeman and the late Steve Terry's wife. These two were involved in unrelated motorcycle accidents.

Thanks,

Ray
