Lurker stepping forward.

Got it now

LOL!!!! The front door.... of the igloo is the main obstruction. It won't matter one iota if there's room inside for a pool table.

Fred <~~~ just said something racist against greeks

I got it now. You have to understand my head is a little hard sometimes. I'm a sicilian eskimo with a hard head and it's full of paranoia. That front door can be an obstacle. I had a friend who pulled up his dining room floor so he could drop his pool table into his basement. A real die hard. :D :D

Whoa, interesting series of replies.

I am not racist, I am bitter about a growing problem in this country. I did think carefully about the inclusion the term "Latino" instead of "Mexican" as described in the articles I've linked. This also seems to be pertinent information to every legal council, insurance, and law enforcement agency I have been in contact with since the incident.

I could go on, but I digress.
Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to ALL feedback on the "newb" questions I may ask. For those of you who have facetiously warned me, I have been an E-warrior and Grammar Enforcer on Automotive boards for a long time. Trust me, many there were nowhere near the level of education and maturity that I've seen on here.

If I have offended anyone, I do apologize. I'm sure it won't be the last time I stir things up.

Heck of a coming out of the lurker closet post;

Can I ask why you felt the need to bring up the ethnicity of the person who stole your car? How is it relevant to the fact that you car go wrecked?

Gregg, I don't think he was insinuating that the car was stolen but I could be mistaken. Give the new guy a break before busting his balls about something you perceive as racist.

No Offense

I'm only half "Latino" and I didn' take any offense. I know there is a problem with it where I live. I actually had the same thing happen a while back. Guy rear ended me and when I got out to assess the damage he took off. I chased him for a couple blocks but he got away. I was real pissed off...then as luck would have it I saw him at the movie theater. Man was he suprised to see me.

The more I think about this, the more this post seems to be a mistake; Don't back off.

Stay with it. And please refrain from using words like "digress" on a message board about pool players.

Most of us wish we could have started a post that received five pages of response, on our 1st try no less! You seem to have a real nack for this posting stuff!

So what if you ruffle a few feathers along the way? You can't please everyone, including me. Kudos...not everyone hits a grand slam their first time at bat.

Racist comments

According to my dictionary, racism is a form of discrimination. Please keep that in mind as you read on.

Here are some racist comments:

That guy almost hit me!

What a jerk!

Who does he think he is?

How many of you saw a WHITE guy in your head, when you read those comments? There you go! White people don't even get called by a racial name tag!! That's race discrimination!!

All the racism nonsense makes me sick. People discriminate all the time. Check it out...

If you are looking for a job and the boss interviews you, but you look just like his ex-girlfriend who wrecked his car and took his $1000 pool cue when she left, HE IS NOT GOING TO HIRE YOU. That is discrimination.

If I walk into a restaurant and see a girl flapping her tongue around in her mouth, because she just got her tongue pierced, I am NOT going to spend my bucks at that restaurant and I'll likely not be back, because the place was crude enough to hire someone that doesn't mind displaying her open mouth and possibly splattering her germs all over people. Most likely, she's also putting her fingers on it and then touching the food she's serving.

We, as humans, automatically discriminate in the things we see and do, every day. We discriminate when we choose our friends. Some folks discriminate against one or more of their own children. We discriminate in answering (or not answering) a phone call, because we are looking at the caller ID that tells us who it is.

We automatically discriminate according to the things that stir up emotions and things that separate one's looks from another. There are blonde jokes, short people jokes, fat people jokes, etc..

We discriminate when we choose which sock to put on, first, which company to advertise with, which food to eat, which dog to own, what brand of computer we buy. Practically everything we do, aside from existing includes one form of discrimination or another.

Personally, I wish we could all live together and get along, without feeling that discriminating is wrong. It's actually very right, according to the way things were set up. It doesn't mean we have to hate or hurt. It just means we will continue to be choosy.

Some of us who are one color have best friends of another color. Is that discrimination? You bet it is!

I didn't take the Latino comment as intent to offend and neither did the other occupants of this household. Personally, I think he was rather tactful, under the circumstances. What would YOU have said, if it was you who had your pride and joy taken from you in an instant by some idiot (must be a white guy) who didn't have the decency to be legal?

Now. I think we all need to use a little discrimination and choose not to discuss this issue any further. Let's just welcome this newcomer and if there has to be a discussion of racism, please take it to a forum where racism is an issue. The AZB forum is focused on pool and generally, most pool players will play a game of pool to beat anyone they can, REGARDLESS of race, age, etc.. That's about as un-discriminating as you can get.

Being white (actually, Irish, Indian, French and German), I hope all you other white folks will pardon me for using our "race" as an example. I hope it actually helped me make my point to some.

More importantly, welcome to the forum, Michael. I don't care what race you are, as long as you are a decent person who just wants to contribute to a great forum. I think you've started out rather well. What a conversation you got going! :)

Welcome Rotarded! You speak right up buddy!

Jigger < ---- slightly offended cause I'm retarded:p

I guess i should explain my user name before it offends anyone:

Rotarded = Rotary + Retarded

Rotary: My 5 year car project was a 500whp 1993 Mazda RX-7 That I had built a half bridgeported ROTARY engine, as well as modified about every other part on the car.

Retarded: re?tard?ed (rĭ-t?r'dĭd) Occurring or developing later than desired or expected; delayed.

what a whiner!!

Man I thought you had wrecked that thing! A little buffing and that will come right out. :D :D :D

Actually been there, done that, don't need no stinking T-shirt to remind me. Over two years work, over 10K in mid-seventies dollars, less than two hours driving time. A moron clipped the right side tires and the front wheel off of the car and it went greasy side up.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the rick roll. Sometimes I rick roll myself after I take a bad beat at online poker. Rick Astley should get a tenth of a penny for every rick roll.

why are you offended? He just added precision in his story. Race is not an issue. If I tell I bought a chair and that its red, are you gonna be offended because you don't like the color red? The chair will remain a chair regardless of its color, same for humans.

many great players on the forum

Welcome to the forum, Michael! Since you've spent the past 4 months lurking, there's not much to tell you, except that you are probably not as far off the playing level of the avg. AZB'er as you think. Many of these folks are great players, but a lot of them might be even better if they were spending more time at the pool hall and less time on the forum. (Like me.) :D

It's nice to have a place to share, where there are so many folks with similar likes and dislikes. Come on in and join the fun!

Many great players on the forums. ????????.
