Magic..

I have been using Magic Chalk for a couple years and tried to find the same info. I contacted some of our AZ members in Russia and they do not know either. One did tell me that the wording on the package was incorrect leading him to say it could be from China or anywhere for that matter. I have purchased mine from Mexico but have no idea who or where it's made or the actual distributor. Every person that I have given some to loves it as well. Initially I found it after contacting Mary Avina.. If the OP is succesful in finding out send me a PM please I'd like to know as well. The package is black for the other poster...

I'm utterly shocked. I thought "Magic Chalk" is produced in Japan under the Kamui Label??

That is really good news. if the "Magic Chalk" is really made in Russia/China or Mexico...it must be way more affordable...all things considered?

It states Made In Russia on the label, so your guess is as good as mine. I could not find anyone that actually knows where the stuff comes from. For the $$$ it's the best IMO...

Another vote for Magic Chalk. In fact, I can confidently say this is my favorite chalk, and has been so for a number of years.

Once in a while, I'll stray away from Magic Chalk (as I did just recently), but I always come back. Recently, I used Blue Diamond for a spell, wearing a cube of it down to the nub. After I got done with the Blue Diamond, I can confidently say I like the Magic Chalk better. It just goes on quicker, smoother, with better coverage. I guess I'm a spoiled brat. ;)

The price is worth it, too. It's approximately the same price as Blue Diamond (a couple dollars a cube), but not astronomically "out of the ball park" like Kamui chalk is.

I'd like to mention that I've personally done business with eBay seller "billarstudio" and although the somewhat broken English may scare you, I want to let everyone know that every single transaction was flawless. He deals in hard-to-get pool and billiards-related items, and what he writes in the ads / pictures he includes / prices, are right on the money. He also responds quickly to any communications, answering questions as best he can.

I'm well-stocked in Magic Chalk at the moment, but the instant I get low -- and as in the past -- I hit up "billarstudio" for more.

As far as manufacturers, there might be a few:

http://www.alibaba.com/manufacturers/russian-magic-pool-chalk-manufacturer.html

Though it seems like you would have to make really big purchases since these are the manufacturers.

Be careful with those searches, because many vendors are using what's called "template" pages that absorb the key words you type in, and reflect them back to you such that their page comes up in search engines as "hits." Notice how your EXACT search phrase came up, word for word, in their page description? That's a dead-ringer "template" page. Many very aggressive vendors are using these, as a form of "reverse spam" -- meaning, they absorb your search terms exactly, and come up as false hits on a search. Many Chinese vendors are doing this, as a means of cracking additional business in the U.S.

Just FYI,
-Sean

Can you get Magic Chalk in blue? I'm not sure I could handle playing with a tan chalk.

Blue is the only one I really like.

I use it all the time as well and usually am able to get fairly large quantities. The guy who I buy from says he has a friend in Russia who ships it to him but I don't have a clue. He could be getting it from Mexico for all I know. I know that the guy in Mexico sells a ton of it.

That would be Humberto Gallegos on the bay as (billiarstudio) sp, as I recall. Great guy trustworthy and honest, I have never had any problems doing business with him..

I sent the seller a message regarding color and he signed it "Jesus".

So, at least our savior is looking out for us. Maybe this Magic Chalk walks on water?

I kid.

Anyway, the only way he's selling, that I could find, is in 10 packs. There's no way I want or need that much of it right now, since I've never even tried it before.

Does anyone have 2-3 new blue cubes they'd be willing to sell me to see if I like the stuff? I'd probably toss one of those to my best friend to see what he thinks.

If so, just PM me.

The only person that I got it from is Billar Studio in Mexico.
Shipping to Canada, the guy wants $24 no matter how many boxes you want. Makes sit a little pricey so have stuck with BD and Pre Flag.

that was me giving translation of readings on the box, and the origin of Magic Chalk is certainly not Russia ;) Recently I have seen some offers at Japanese auction sites.

Bump here.

I'd like to buy 2-3 cubes of blue Magic Chalk from someone to see what the fuss is about.

The only place I've found it is on eBay for 10 cubes at a time. I'd rather not buy that much, since I don't know if I'll like it or not.

I don't have a cube in front of me to compare it but this chalk looks allot like the Balabushka chalk. If memory serves the packaging looks like they might be made by the same people. Anyone know?

<------ Sticking with Masters.....for now!
