Hi, I thought I share some that I really like. It tells a lot about us imo.
Dan Millman has written more books if you want to read. Without searching I think his site is: name.com.

Have a nice day you all - I will

CJ, correct me if I'm wrong. In your TOI DVD, you explain that part of the TOI system IS for aiming.

On a 20 degree cut to the right you aim "center to center" like you are aiming for a straight in then add the touch of right so that the cue ball squirts or deflects to the left to cut it in.

Maybe I misunderstood but for one, this sounds like an aiming system to me and two, seems to me like a much more inferior way to aim than your ultimate aiming system from your early instructional material IMO.

An Aiming System is like the "sights" on a gun, TOI is the complete Gun.

That's a great question. TOI is an alignment/total playing system, not an aiming system, of course this can be argued, however the ones now that are using TOI will all know the difference.

An Aiming System is like the "sights" on a gun, TOI is the Gun. (metaphorically speaking of course;))

My Aiming System is showcased in 1997 in my DVD 'Ultimate Pool Secrets', it teaches to align the a spot on the cue ball to either the Center or Edge of the object ball. This "Aiming System" can by used as a check and balance to the TOI, however, it's not a total playing system like the TOI Technique is.

The TOI shifts from visual aiming to "Creating Angles" using your tip as a reference. The TOI blends ALL aspects of pool playing into one. With TOI you MUST treat every shot the same, in terms of SHOT SPEED - CREATING SHOT ANGLE - and CUE BALL TARGET. When you master the TOI SHOT, you will, in effect be able to play the complete game at a championship level. Have I "mastered" the TOI Technique? The answer is quite simply "yes".....however just recently have I become advanced at teaching it, in 1997 (when those videos were made) I didn't want to get into teaching the world a different way of playing. Besides, I was using it myself and was the #1 Player in the World (96 Player of the Year voted by Pool and Billiard Magazine), so I really didn't want to devulge my biggest secret at that time.

Times have changed, I know longer want to gamble for money, it's better for me overall to help players improve and enable them to reach my level if they choose to put the time and dedication into it. 'The Game is the Teacher'

Thanks for your answer. I have gotten some good things out of this latest TOI DVD.

The part where you line up center to center then use squirt/deflection to send the cue ball where it needs to be to make a cut seems like something that you might not "real eyes" you are making a different adjustment for the cut.

Is this the part of the lesson where some people look at you all crazy?

Hello HoumaTroy,
I missed you being on the forum. Happy New Year to you and your family. Hope everything is going well for you.
That is a not for me, commercial.
I am going to have to stop going to the pool hall. I will tell you why later. Take care, I care.

I still come on and catch up on things from time to time even tho I'm not actively involved as I was...Been busy with work n stuff...all good on my end...Hope all is well on your end my friend !!!

The deflection part is really just connected to the "3 Part Pocket System"

I'm glad you like the video, remember it's condensed from 11 hours to 90 minutes - there is a LOT of subtle teachings in there and I recommend watching it every day for a week if possible. Your Game will thanks you. :)

Moving inside on the cue ball changes the visual perception of the shot as well. Try it.....move inside on the cue ball, then pivot back to center and you'll clearly see that you've created an angle between the two balls WITHOUT the deflection. The deflection part allows you to aim at one side of the pocket and actually hit the center, or with too much the outside of the pocket.....of course too little will still hit the inside part of the pocket.

The deflection part is really just connected to the "3 Part Pocket System" and gives you the extended "margin of error" in the pocket zone. I've explained this in a multitude (plus 1) of ways, and I know it's challenging to understand, however, when you "get it" you will be utterly amazed what happens to your Game.

TOI will change from you playing it, to "it" playing you".....this is something I can't teach, you'll have to learn this straight from the Game. 'The Game is the Teacher'

see the complete zone on every shot and it will influence your decisions on how......

Thank you. That makes sooooo much more sense. I thought I was taking crazy pills.

Your're making smart points, and asking legitimate questions. This is a totally new way of playing for everyone. Most players know they don't play the same game as champions, and to explain the difference is challenging.

Basically, the first step to playing consistent pool is discovering a way to hit the cue ball straight.

The next step to championship pool is learning to "not" hit it straight on purpose. Which ever side of center you choose, (I use inside so I don't have to spin the ball unless I want to) it's essential to pick one so you can create zones. Just like the spin in golf, tennis and bowling, deflection/veer is the way to force the ball off line intentionally to create a larger approach to the pocket.

This also works with position play, watch this video where I run 15 balls and I explain creating zones AS I DO IT. I'm trying to reveal the secret, all you have to do is incorporate it by extending your position line all the way to the rail EVERY TIME. This is the way to see the complete zone on every shot and it will influence your decisions on how to approach each shot. 'The Game is the Teacher'

Watch one more time and pay attention to my reference to zone play.....

I started to PM you a few times to see if you were OK. And then I figured you were OK, because no one said otherwise. I am glad you are doing good on your end. I am OK on this end. Keep on with the keep on!

Times change quickly it seems:

Man, I appreciate you saying that...now I can get a lot of action, I'm sure the line will be long to play me.

Maybe someone can start a post of exactly who these "100 players" that will play me are. I promise I will start at the bottom and play every single one of them. This isn't "woofing" this said with joy. Getting action isn't exactly as easy as you indicate.

As a matter of fact besides the top 5 in the country I'm not sure who else will actually play some 1000. sets. I say this because I don't want to "high roll" anyone, then you'll say that's the reason they won't play. Let me be loud and clear,

I'll play anywhere from $20 a game to $200 a game and put up 10 games (at least). The line's open, just not Shane, I had to play him last time I went to DCC and it messed my action for two years. I learned my lesson, anyone else is welcome, let's get a list of 20 out of the 100 and I may play them all with in a week or two.

We can set up appointments like the old days. This is fair isn't it? I would really enjoy playing someone every day and if there's really 20 in this country that will play me, then I'm ready to start in a week. Someone round them up and "let's play pool fast eddie".

;)

What are you doing awake at this awful hour of the morning? I'm not used to reading you in the morning forum rush hour. Me, I'm just rising and shining, sipping my Pleasant Morning Buzz.

I just got in late that night. There were some gunslingers hanging out at Buffalo Billiards and I had to take part in the festitivities. :D (Shhhh).

Has there been any good games down there besides just the locals battling it out?

James Walden, Ronnie Wiseman, Richie Richardson and Justin Hall and some of their traveling companions have been around doing some gambling in addition to the locals battling it out.

If you want me to pass on some information about you playing one of them, what games would you like to play with who and for how much?

Hi Joey,

How old is James Walden & does he go by Jim?

Thanks,

Walden. I don't know his age and don't know a Waldo.

I usually say I type with dyslexia since I'm basically a 2 finger pounder, but that was an all out seizure.

Is Mr. Walden hanging out at Corner Pocket or is that another guy?

I don't know if James Walden goes to any pool room other than THE WORLD'S POOL HALL/Buffalo Billiards.
