Making leather wrap slick

Just got a cue with a leather wrap. Although very nice, it has a little grip to it (monkey wrap). How would you guys make the wrap very slick. I thought about Pledge but I'm not sure that will keep the wrap safe. Wouldn't just plain pool chalk (white) work? Any suggestions?

Depending on the texture, you could polish/buff it with some "neutral" leather shoe polish.

Pledge will work fine, I have used it on leather of all kinds for years. Paste wax is also good. I have Kangaroo on a couple of cues and I use Pledge most of the time. A good non-scented moisturizer (like neutragena emulsion) in small amounts also works really well. Apply, let dry, buff.

Thanks....I tried a little Pledge. Seems to work pretty good. I just rubbed on a little....so I'll try a little more tonight.

i use armor all to clean up all my black wraps. wpie on sit over night wipe a few times before playing

I believe they make an Armor All product just for leather. Never used it as I have real authentic vinyl in the cowboy cadilac.

authentic imitation leather...lol

i use armor all when showing off a cue for sale. makes it look shinny and more attractive

I would be extremely careful using this paste in your shop. It contains Silicone. That is a big no-no when do finish work. But I have told by other builders that this stuff works good on leather wraps.

I didn't even think about Armor All.....good idea. I believe they make Armor All wipes also.....I'll pick some up and give them a try. Wonder how they'll do on regular linen wrap?

linen would absorb and armor all would ruin it IMO
