Making my own pocket reducers

If you start selling em, please let me know.

We'll all probably have to roll our own if we want these, Bruce.

I'd think that there is enough variation in pocket size and shape among the world's pool tables as to preclude a manufactured product.

Here is a follow up after I cut all the pocket and addressing further questions. They work great, but there is one drawback which is if you are really slamming the ball in on the corner pockets, the OB has a chance of bouncing out, I don't know if glueing felt on might dampen it so I will try that next as Accurajoe recommended. Don't seem to have that problem on the side pockets.

QA

1) As far as sizes they come in 3/8, 1/2and 3/4" sizes. I would be hesitant to go with 3/4 as I think it would take up too much volume in the back of the pocket. I got mine at http://www.utahhomefitness.net/, to find a place that would carry them near you I would look on http://www.precor.com/en-us/united-states/home/find-store and anyone that carries Precor products should carry mats.

2) The rubber is non skid and they don't mark the ball at all.

3) Won't be selling them as I think everyone will have to fab there own since there are so many tables/different depths.

That's a great idea! Maybe you could get him to donate them to you and you could then sell them!

AWESOME!!!

Very creative. I will definitely make a set. Reps to you for sharing.
Like any idea there is chance for improvement if not we would all still be driving a Model T.

If I can come up with any other tip I will post it here and hopefullynothers will do the same.

Thanks!

Lots of great ideas and info. Thank you. I like the gym mat idea because it seems to be relatively inexpensive and effective. One of the main reasons for tightening the pockets is because it is almost impossible to dig an opponent's ball out of his pocket...we're talking really big pockets here.
thanks again...also they can be easily removed for my grandsons to enjoy shooting.

I did this with my table it'a awesome! Works really well. Sometime the object ball jump out of the pocket if you hit the balls really hard. Have you tried gluing felt to the gym may yet? If so does it help with the bouncing.
