These old Mali's play pretty good and were well made for production cue but I will take an old ADAM from Helmstetter / Japan factory any day.

Thanks for posting catalog. By chance you have original price list. Love those old price lists.

Best,

-Kat,

Can you post a picture of the green label? Hunting a T15...

I don't have a pic but someone on here gave me the original catalog an it was like an 02 or 03 model.

If you were to do a search there is a pic of it. It's like
Probably two years old and something like " pawn shop score " or something like that

Green label

Butt only I can make shaft if you want ?
There is one decent scrape right through the sticker.

Almost looks like African mahogany

I was going to put a 3/8 x10 pin and make a shaft for it and turn it into a sleeper .

Really not that bad of shape IMO

This is mine next to my Huebler. Don't know the model, but I think it is from about 1980. The joint collar is not stainless or brass, it is metal though. Kind of a bronze looking metal. The pin is brass, 18 thread. Pristine condition. The wrap is amazing.

Nice looking cue Doc. Mine in a plain Jane ( no points ) and it does have the brass joint and 18 pin.

Thanks- I have a silver label plain jane as well. Green stain, green with black spec linen, and a 3/8x10 pin. The quality difference between my plain later cue and my earlier one is tremendous. I sure do like the green labels. I think that was really the heyday for Mali.

I agree about the green labels. My first " real cue " ( other than the K-mart special with the tennis racket grip lol ) was an old green label Mali I got back in the early 90's. Sure did love that stick. Also I see you mentioned a silver label? I've has / seen green and gold but never seen / heard of a silver label. Any idea what time frame that's from?

Here are the catalogs that someone provided me.( Courtesy of WildWing ) My Mali is the M-1, it was dated supposedly to 1979.

Best,

-Kat,

Funny, I've had both and the Mali sticks out more to me in terms of distinct "hit". I loved my old JR9 Adam cue though. It was the first traditional cue I ever bought. Both brands are severely underrated. I can't understand why anyone would prefer buying a Meucci from the same era over these brands...

Cool cue! I have one very similar, but with different handle wood. I'd leave the joint alone unless it needs fixin'. Mine has a hairline crack developing, so might replace it with antler if it becomes an issue. Wish I had better pics, the grain and color is much nicer in natural light.

Btw, these are great cues if you love big ol' butts (on the cue of course).

Love that cue.

Really a classic example of the higher end Mali cues of that time.

Mine is more understated but still classy with veneers and simple MOP dot inlays.

I never did find out anything as to the original price but I have a feeling it was one of the cheapest ones. The pic from the catalog doesn't really do it justice though, the wood is actually pretty nicely " figured ". Cue is ( assuming it still is ) in great condition, I'd say easily 8/10 if not a 9. Surprisingly the original wrap was still in perfect condition too. I have no interest in selling but would you have a guess Doc on its value ?
