hi, gang i just wanted to pass the word on a awesome table mechanic. I was having some problems my brunswick sence i bought it new an the local brunswick dealer purchased it from put to it together. You can read my other post on here about my table. Well a good freind mine recommend Mark gergory he also perfectpocketz on az here an his number is list on the mechanic form here as well, an travels around the u.s too. I gave Mark a call an we dicussed my table an gave my price to repair my table where the popcorn table mechanics put it together where i bought it. Mark came out to my house an had to take my whole table apart an start over. I got say he is the best i have very seen. His attention to detail is unreal an the man really takes pride in his work an is a true profectionist .Mark is great player also so he knows what a table is apost to play like. It took Mark an his son 8 hrs to set my brunswick up from the ground up. It plays very very well.Mark does not post any pictures of his work or post about it on here i think it is a shame I don't think he gets the respect he deserves as some on here. Mark can work on any table brunswick, diamond, 3 cushion tables , snooker and etc. He do shims or rail extentions you name it the man can do it. My hats off to u sir you r great perfectionist at what u do. I recommend this guy to anyone !! Thank you sir! for a GREAT JOB! yes, mark does GREAT work! i have seen him spend hours and hours on a table to make sure it played perfectly before he left it.
 
Mark is great, just great. He and Glen are friends, I think I introduced them, together they are among the best table mechnics in the biz, even seperatly they are. I'd llove to have Mark do my table anytime. I'd recommend him with out hesitation, He is a good friend and solid player too. I met him at a friend house when he was setting up his new table a couple years ago and we been friends since. We need more guys like Mark in the biz, so other people can see just how good a properly set up table is.

he did one of the best playing gold crowns i ever played on.
 
I knew Mark when he was a stone-cold action pool player. :grin-square:

The first time I ever laid eyes on him, he was driving around in a big cruising machine, a Cadillac I think, with Marcus Chamat, Keith McCready, Helena, and Monica in tow. They were at Hot Shots in Baltimore. Mark Gregory stayed in action that weekend.

Fast forward a few years. Keith McCready was on the road in West Virginia hoping to get action at Frank's Place in Morgantown. I had never been there before, but I was told the owner enjoyed playing one-pocket with anyone for a lot of cheese, as long as they gave him the "right" handicap. :cool:

We pulled up to the joint, walked in, and who was in the back room but Mark and his lovely lady, fixing the GC tables, new felt, balancing, et cetera.

They played excellent, BTW! :wink:

Someone can grab the history book, but I believe he also placed in the top 5 or 7 one year at the US Open 9-ball Championship.

BUMP-BUMP he put mu G C together about 4yr ago and it still playes as smooth as ever, yes he is by far the best i have ever seen in table set up. STICK:grin-square::grin-square:

yes, I believe Mark has cashed several times in the Open. He is a great guy to be around. We have had several good times. We put him in the box a couple of times in Atlanta and bet on the side a lot when he was playing also.

A fun, quick little story; Mark always kid us when he would win us some money about us giving him jelly, and usually we did. Whenever he would win a match, even if we weren't involved, he would always come up to us and ask if we had any jelly. We always had a good laugh about this.

Well, one night after being at Mr. Cues all night, we went to the Steak N' Shake. When we walked in we see Mark sitting with his back to us in the opposite corner. We kind of snuck in and sat accross the room without him seeing us. When the waitress came over we got her to fill a plate with jelly packets and deliver it to Mark. When she sat it down in front of him he said "what is this?". She said, "well, it's your jelly, compliments of the gentlemen over there". He got up and saw us and we all laughed hysterically.
 
Mark is a close personal friend of mine. I have been around pool for over 30 years. He is one of the best in the biz of not the best. I would recommend him
to anyone.He just rebuilt my table a few weeks ago and it is perfect.Thanks again Mark.

i am lucky enough to shoot out of mark's home room in georgia where he built a beast of a gold crown and have been lucky enough to have him show me a few things. he truly is a great guy, his son's not a bad fellow either (also not a bad shot - the apple didn't fall far from the tree:eek:). i have also been lucky enough to watch mark play for cash and it truly is something special when he is on his game. if i remember i'll try to get pictures of the gold crown at the pool room he built. the sub rails are extended to make the pockets, i beleive 4.25". if i see him i'll check that. he also built a stock tournament edition gc that comes from brunswick with tight 4.5" pockets that plays real nice. i guess this was all a long way to say - bump for a great mechanic:thumbup:
 
yes Mark is a great player too, an hope his son realizes atrue craft his dad is trying to teach him. Thomas could be one of the best too. I would give anything to travel around an be Marks helper for awhile. I think brunswick needs a great mechanic like Mark to represent them as his passion is brunwicks, as diamond has Glenn a.k.a realkingcobra to represent them an there product. JUST MY 2 CENTS professor :grin:

I put Mark in the box several times...got quite a few stories..some good...some not so good...I still get teased from time to time bout this 1 time i got Mark playing 1 of New Orleans biggest fish..aka....Tenneco..well Tenneco got almost 10k behind him this night..and everybody that knows beannie pop..."another nickname Tenneco had"..well he's known for never quiting ..and we got him starting off playing 9ball banks for $400 a game...they play for a bit..Tenneco wins the 1st 3 games..mark wins next 5...Tenneco wins 2 & Mark quits...His sinuses were messing with him or something..I was trying to get his mindset right telling him..let's take this guy off..Tenneco got his nose wide open & is trying to up the bet..Not quit..lol..But we wound up even instead of picking up that 10k...Tennaco was a c+ player at best....I was sick..lol

OMG mark was stealing and didnt know it

I have never heard of Tenneco having that kind of money. I played him banks for 50 and 100 once and he was stuck 600. He had mentioned earlier that he had a little over 800 on him...
He asked me to raise it to 200 a game. LOL I told him I know you only have 800. He said who cares I aint quitting and neither are you so lets get it going.
I didnt raise it but I did get the $$.

I played him once over on the west bank playing 8ball by candlelight and lanterns. The power went off and it didnt phase him. He rounded up the lights and said break'em. We were already about 2 hours in and he was stuck. I knew he wasnt quititing though.

Thank you Charles for all the kind words, also to all of the other members on here with such kind and positive words. I just want my customers to be happy with their pool table investment. I really believe after 30 yrs. of playing, I truly do understand how a pool table should play. I'm more than sure I'm no going to please everyone, but I will do the best job that I can.
