Mark Griffin will be joining Greg Sullivan and the other Diamond guys at the Diamond Billiard Products booth at the BCA Expo - held in Charlotte, NC on June 12-14.

I encourage anyone to stop by and introduce yourself and we can talk about the "new" USA Pool League.

I was going to come up for a day. I asked the OB-1 folks for a pass to get in. I left three messages and never did get a reply of any kind. I'm puzzled!! I would like to come up but I just refuse to pay an admission to get in. I even asked Pat Fleming if he was going to have a booth and he said no.
 
Somehow I feel like I walked into the section of the arena where the cheap seats are located.

The first trade show I went to in Kentucky a long while back, Nick Varner was being stonewalled at the door by a young lady that didn't recognize him or seem to care that he was a world champion.

All industry trade shows that I have ever been to charge admission. Why would this one be any different? If your not exhibiting or exhibitioning then you should pay like everyone else. I really can't believe you would make a statement like that on a public forum.
 
We are not exhibiting at this show, but we normally have extra passes which we would certainly give to someone like grady. To have someone like grady in your booth would be an honor. why would i make him pay?
He's not there to purchase product, but to be an ambassador. Your a cuemaker and you wouldnt give grady or another player a free pass????
This is why the industry sucks!!!
 
Grady is also a room owner, book seller, dvd marketer, and an exhibitionist which is part of the industry. He should be in with someone, but if he's has not arranged that by now, then thats his problem at this point. To "refuse" and air that publicly really surprised me. Pay the $20 is all I gotta say. Geeeze.

Mark, sorry your thread got hijacked. Love the diamond products. I know the "new" USA Pool League system is a work in progress, but when do you think it will be close to complete. Also, will you be posting complete details on your website?

I've never known Grady to be an exhibitionist, although he may have on occasion been an exhibitor.

Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways, gentlemen. I looked through the list of exhibitors and found 32 of them who have called me in the past( including the BCA) and sought my council, pro bono, of course. In my dotage I thought that perhaps the efforts of men like me helped our great sport. Every billiard product, every game of pool, everything pool related is due at least in a small measure to our work.
It's bad enough, in my view, that several people are in the BCA HOF, who never won a tournament or only one, over me and I never even see my name nominated. OK, but pay? Forget it.

Grady, have you tried calling some of those 32 exhibitors and seeing if any of them can spare an entry pass in exchange for an appearance? If I were an exhibitor, I'd love to have someone like Grady hanging around the booth, signing autographs and doing a meet and greet for a little while.
 
Would The PGA charge Jack Nicklaus for a golf event or the would the PBA charge Earl Anthony. Do you think the NFL should charge Jerry Rice?

Do you guys realize who you are talking about? Thats Grady Mathews. Maybe you should educate yourself before embarassing yourselves on a public forum

I completely agree with Chris' opinion. If their has been one person in the
billiard world who promotes and truly loves the game anymore than Grady
then I don't know who it would be.

Sorry that you did not hear from us. Jon mentioned that you asked if we had an extra pass, and I told him that we did not. I thought he called you, and he thought I had called you. Again, sorry that you did not hear from us.

Unfortunately, we had to use all of our alloted passes for our people.

I am actually getting ready to go to the airport right now. It's 4:45am here.

Maybe next year.

Grady you are more than welcome to come and we are more than happy to arrange a pass for you. If you would like to attend the finals of the tournament we will get you and Randi a VIP seat for the event.

Please respond as soon as you can to 704-257-4849 and I will insure that you have passes to the tournament as well as the expo.
