Mark Griffin, John Rousseau and Chris DelaGarza... Who else is running?

Wpba

This thread is no big deal. It is nice to see several of my acquaintances 'stick' up for me.

I do not expect to be elected because of the perceived conflict between myself and APA. I don't see the problem - but I have always been able to seperate my positions depending what my responsibilites are. Many cannot (or will not) do that.

All I know is that I try to operate in an honorable fashion. I will always be available to defend myself (if necessary) or to explain myself.

I feel these forums are good because it brings about open discusion on many subjects.

and that is all there is . . . . .

I've dealt with Mark for a few years now. I think the man is made of gold and I'd trust him with my wallet.

Whoever dropped that comment is a stone cold hater.

Conflict or not..........

The issue at hand should be what is best for the WPBA and pool not for BCA or APA, not individually that is.

It shouldnt matter who is a part of what other organization as long as it isnt harmful in any way, shape or form. If Mark and anyone else up for a seat is associated with a competing league system oh well.....................should they truly not be elected because of this when they most certainly have what it takes to turn a business model that has faultered into one that succeeds?

Isnt it time to stop operating as if this is a political race and view it as whats best for pool not just one sponsor or who likes who and how they do business? Do they get the job done? Thats what matters!

I for one am ready to see changes happen for the best for pool and not just whats best for the one person or one sponsor or one group but for pool as a whole.

Whoever it is to take it there is up to each person to decide, we all have opinions..............I just hope that decision can be based on facts and whats best and not politics because politics will only muddy up an already messy industry!

here's why

Mark:
If you DON'T get elected it will be because some of those who want the power for themselves know that you won't play ball with anyone who wants to cut corners or do anything except what you said you'd do and what's right to do. PLEASE don't give up on getting pool running right at a national level in the US. It will take some time, and it will take some bucks, but we're all dam lucky that it looks like you've got time and money both and are prepared to make the investment. Keep it up, and thanks for all you already do.

I visited with Mark and others over lunch in Galveston and heard his passionate ideas for fixing the world of pool. I have known him for years and he has always been a person of integrity, ability and passion.

Lets face it the world of pool needs a big change, the players can not make a living and pool is too good a sport with too many players not to more highly thought of than it is today. My own opinion is that unless Mark implements his ideas that the sport will continue to flounder while the so called leaders keep waiting for Paul Newmam to do Hustler 3 and spark interest

I am glad to see that the unethical swipe at Mark Griffin in one of these post has been exposed for what it was, implied slander of a good man with nothing of substance behind it ,it appears some people like Mark more than the individual who spoke with an agenda of his own.

sunny, should Chris' name be first as she is the lady? isn't bird poop your husband? who would you add to the list?

I am aware that Mark Griffin, John Rousseau and Cristina Delagarza are running for the vacant WPBA Board spot(s). Not sure how many spots are vacant.

Who else is running? I skimmed over the WPBA web site but I didn't see a list... it's possible that I am challenged:cool:

John, you know very well who I'm married to. But that isn't the topic here and I had a legitimate question for the forum members because I could not find it on my own.

I think you're just throwing a tantrum because I didn't list you first:rolleyes:

If you do have a valid question, feel free to call me.

marc griffin for wpba board

sara, i have seen you play and you are awesome and so is mr. griffin. i hope he gets on the board as i know he loves pool

Poolsnark doesn't have a problem with Mark the way I read it. I know that some people (I'm not incinuating anything) aren't very open minded about new people, especially people with big ideas! I think Mark is a huge asset to our sport and it doesn't get any better than him. He isn't afraid to go for big things whether they are extremely successful, mediocre or failures. At least he tried! Hopefully he gets a chance to work with the WPBA and isn't seen as a conflict (think possible APA/BCA conflict). I'm not saying that is what I'm thinking, but some people might think that.

I think there are quite a few people that have the drive to help the WPBA grow. I think there are three or four spots open. Hopefully our future is getting bigger and brighter!

I guess we will find out in a few weeks.
