Thanks VARick. Thats a great story.

He won a qualifier for the IPT against a strong field beating Danny Medina and David Matlock (10 games to 4) along the way as well as a couple of others and then made it through the first round of the North American I believe.

I have recently had a lesson with Stan Shuffett and one thing he has taught me is that practice and play isn't the same thing. Practice all you can and take your hard work to the game and it will show in your play.
Back to Mark Tadd. I think what made him the most feared 9-ball player at that time was his break. He started racking and breaking the balls time and time again. Never shooting any other shots. Just practicing the break shot. He started this about 10 p.m. I had a match the next morning so I headed to my room to get some rest. I show up at 9 a.m. to hit some balls before my match. Guess who was there!! Mark Tadd was still racking and breaking the balls. It was verified by several people that he had been there all night doing this. They had kept the room open 24 hrs for the action. That's eleven hours straight practicing the break!! This was told to be common for him. Does anyone know of a player with this kind of work ethic? I don't and haven't ever seen any other practice one shot for eleven hours!!

In case you didn't know, I am Jewish, Yes, just like Mike Sigel and Andy Segal. We have a little different opinion about Jesus. I personally think he was a great man and a fearless leader, a lot like Martin Luther King and Gandhi. But I don't plan on worshipping him any time soon. If that offends anyone, I hope you get over it soon.
By the way, there are many devout Christians in the pool world who I consider close friends, most notably Robin Dodson and Mike Massey. Relgious beleifs have never affected our friendship. And I hope it continues this way. From my point of view, zealous religious fanatics have created many of the problems on planet Earth today. Many wars have been, and are being fought over different religious beliefs. And that fact sickens me.
Russ Chewning said:Well, as you can see in my sig, he believes that if you don't really know Jesus, but are searching for the answers, and think God will have mercy on you if you die before finding Jesus... Then you are wrong, and your soul will burn in Hell for all eternity.
I don't care enough about mark tadd to even bother looking it all up again, but suffice it to say that he is ultra judgemental (and you know, coming from ME, that is saying something!), thinks there is ONE salvation path, and that everyone else in the world is going to Hell for eternal torture.
Now, if he had any personality at all, he might be able to convince a few people. Unfortunately, the mark tadd that we have all heard about from his pool days, i.e. cocky, arrogant, bombastic, is still the mark tadd of today. Finding religion hasn't really changed him. He might be humble towards God, but he is the furthest thing from humble when it comes to his fellow man.
Everyone who wasn't on his side to begin with whenever we started a religious discussion in NPR, ended up thinking him an excessively arrogant person who had little chance of "winning souls", because his communication and empathy skills are nonexistent.
Just look up his posts in NPR. I don't think he has ever posted to a nonreligious thread there, so his rantings should be easy to find.

Does that mean I can't send you a Christmas card? lol, I agree that religion often times is the major cause of useless acts and circumstances. The way I view it, to each his own. Maybe I should start a religion, one that makes me lots of money.![]()

Russ Chewning said:If I am going to be attacked every time I post in the same thread as you, perhaps next time I shouldn't add the compliment that I paid Mark? I mean, after all, if you are going to beat a dead joke that is 6 months old into the ground just to start some ****, I might as well try to be as confrontational as possible, right from the get go, right?
I guess you have reading problems, wayne. I've already said on here multiple times recently the woofing was at ONE particular person, whom I know for a fact doesn't play shortstop speed, and I got frisky with my woofing.
Then, you, and others like you, who don't like me for my views on religion, illegal drugs, and sundry other controversial topics decided to make me the butt of the joke because you saw your chance to make fun of me for something I said DIRECTED AT A SINGLE SOLITARY PERSON.
So, wayne... Let's make a deal. Next time you want to use the same old lame joke that you use every single time you and I post in the same thread, please add a disclaimer that says something along the lines of:
"Russ, I know we've beat this to death, but I'm not going to let it go, because... because well, I just don't like you because we have different opinions. Thank you for giving me something to snipe that I wouldn't keep harping on if it was anybody but you."
You can even add my shortstop woof in your sig and add this disclaimer under the sig. Oh, but what fun that would be....
