Marking The Rail & Cloth For Banks...

Why do TD, Refs, and players continue to let a player use the tip of his cue to mark on/under the rail for banks, kicks safes, and kickshots? Some top players have been getting away with doing it for years. Johnnyt

Just because they place their tip on the cloth, doesn't mean they are leaving a mark that is visible to aim at.

Can you imagine somebody playing Brumback, Bugs, or Eddy Taylor and marking the rails?
They would probably laugh and ask to raise the price.
Banking is so much more than a spot on the rail.

If a player has to mark the cloth, it would suggest he doesn't know where the mark should be. :D

Do these turkeys have superlative results?

I can't see how making marks on the table would help anyone other than a rank beginner.

When there is no mark it's harder to see exactly where to hit the rail' Way more accurate with a mark. Johnnyt

What makes you think the spot on the rail is exactly where the ball has to be banked in order to make it? Or is marking a spot on the rail the most accurate way to determine where a ball should be banked in order to make it?

I mark just under the rail every time I bank. My problem is there are some many marks I cant tell which one I need when I get down to shoot.:o

Yes it's old negative Johnny here, just pointing out the many thing that stink up pool. Almost everyone knows about them, but nothing is ever done to correct them. There are so many things wrong with tournament pool, all the king horses and all the king men couldn't fix it. Pool in the states needs a Hearn's to straighten out the nut house it has become. What!!? Pool has a king now? And this king has men? And this king and his men are all bad at reassembling things?

I didn't even get to vote for this king...I would have voted on one who ran on a platform of reassembly (a platform with rails well marked with blue chalk).
