Maryland State Bar Table 10-ball Championships (Aug 12-13)

Earl won his match. Brandon Shuff is playing Bucky Souvanthong right now, 2 to 2 at the time of this writing.

Somebody else took another photo of Keith and Earl, which I adore. I am so glad Keith went to this tournament. He has a cheerful heart right now.

Awesome! Two pool legends:smile:

Earl looks taller than I thought he was.

How tall are Earl and Keith?

Keith is 5'10", and Earl is probably 6' or 6'1".

Rain, sleet, snow, or shine Earl runs every single day and keeps himself in good shape.

Keith and I both walk with our dog, and we try to get in 10,000 steps a day. Walking is great exercise and free.

My favorite Keith walking photo. It was in the fall down the street from where we live in Rock Creek Park. It is truly breathtaking when the leaves change, my favorite time of year. Mickey, our dog, loves it!:)

I use this photo as my wallpaper for my iPhone.

Today is Day 2 of the event. This will be much harder than yesterday. I think Keith might be playing Shaun Wilkie this morning. Shaun, of course, is in dead-punch stroke. He recently represented USA in Poland with Brandon Shuff. He has a powerful, powerful break.

This is alternate break with the breaker racking his own. One of the biggest hiccups of Keith's game is his breaking and racking. He doesn't take time to massage the balls, like players of today do, when racking. He throws them in the wooden rack and just presses the balls together within 3 seconds. In fact, Keith gives himself a slug quite often. I wish he'd take time to give himself a decent rack. :o

On a bar table, anything can happen. Tables yesterday were wet, and this can affect how the leaves are or ball control.

Win or lose, I am so grateful to the organizers of the Maryland State 10-Ball Championship. This event went off without a hitch. There's no green fees, and all the monies collected is in the payouts 100 percent.

Big Truck aka Ray Hansen and PoolActionTV.com is livestreaming, and the video is great, and the commentary is cool. Brandon Shuff, in particular, has commentated a few matches, and he's really knowledgeable and on point. I enjoyed hearing him yesterday. Ray has the perfect voice to do commentating. Sounds just like a professional sports news anchor.

All in all, this pool event is a win-win-win for the players and railbirds alike here in my neck of the woods. Bravo to all involved, especially Bank Shots in Laurel, MD for hosting the event.

One thing you can bet on is the Wilke will never do any funny business with the rack.

Well, there was a little tremor in Laurel, MD yesterday. Let's see if we can have a full-blown Earthquake today.

Darn. Keith!
I logged on right at the "masse' rule argument" lol
Both guys shoot FAST. Love that.
Good match.

Shaun shoots Keith down, 7 to 4 for the win.

Keith moves to the B side of the charts.

Shaun's break was tough to overcome, and he shot well.

Tell him we're pulling for him to battle through the 1 loss side!!

Apparently, there are no jump shots and no masses allows if the cue hand is over the head. I think that is what I overheard in the back-and-forth commotion.

After that, it seems like Keith's balloon deflated. Shaun stayed cool as a cucumber and rolled all the way to the almighty win.

Well, Keith will get to play more now on the B side of the chart. :D

Great match about to start we got the top pick of the calcutta Dodong Diamond James Aranas vs Mike Davis Jr

Limiting masse shots? WTH? What's next, banning English?
Go Keith!

Limiting masse shots? WTH? Is English still allowed?
Go Keith!
Very strange rules can't jump at all not even the edge of the ball with your playing cue and no masse shots at all allowed

I don't think Keith was out of line at all calling it was clearly a masse shot that Shaun did.
