Maryland State Bar Table 10-ball Championships (Aug 12-13)

I dont know kurt, but sounds like he stinks.

Yeah real douche. Just couple examples . I lost 3G's to him and I payed no problem and even shook his hand when we were thru for the night. Then, not too long after that we were gambling and he already had me stuck a few hundred. Then I finally win one and this goof snatches the entire post off the light, runs outside and jumps in his car and peels off. Of course, he disappears for months because he had to, then on a Saturday night down at Lee's USA I stopped in looking for some action. Place was absolutely packed, basically whole place was standing room only and every table going - even all the 3 cushion tables. Well as soon as I walked in I see him and immediately start chasing him. He was running around during everywhere , knocking people over trying to get away - the whole time screaming " somebody CALL THE COPS , HE GOING TO KILL ME!!!!! . Well somebody did in fact call the cops so me and my crew rolled out cause didn't need no trouble with the fuzz at that particular moment to in time lol. Years ago and haven't seen him since, although once in a great while I still get calls from various people telling me, oh he popped up here or there.......

Another story which did not involve me was there was a tonk game at Jack & Jills late one night ( like usual ). It was him, Red Head Jeremy ( RIP ), and the house man Chief . KURT asks the Houseman to break a bill for him. So Chief opens the drawer and starts time make change and drops a bill. He bends over to pick it up and Kurt reaches over and grabs a handful of money out of the drawer. Chief did not notice it happen. Well at the end of the shift when he was cash in out his drawer he ended up being fifty something short - and had to pay it out of his own pocket. This REALLY sick for obvious reasons but anyone that knows Chief knows he's one of the coolest, nicest people youre ever gonna meet and he always went WAY out of his way to look out for all of us. Some people just SUCK!

I see rich allen, jimmy mac (featured in playong off the rail), and tom wirth. No idea on the far L dude though.

Can i win a shirt? Seriously, i want one and cant get to laurel...

Guy on the left was a good player. I'll give you a hint. His nickname is also a nickname on a popular TV show called M.A.S.H. :grin-square:

Are they playing if you call a shot, miss it and hook your opponent, the incoming player can pass the shot?

I am pretty sure that is the rule, but I am not 100 percent. They will have a players meeting, and somebody should ask that question. I'm sure Keith already knows the answer, but he's not here for me to ask him. He's practicing right now for the tournament in Laurel, hoping to break in a new tip.

JAM, as usual awesome pics! However, these were taken a bit before my time. If you have any, what I'd REALLY like to see if you have any is Geese in his famous overalls - which is how I always picture him as that's all he wore the entire time I knew him.You may have been asked this before but did Keith and Geese ever knock heads back in the day? If I had to guess I'd probably have to say no, as Geese was always flyin in low while Keith was on stage in the spot light .

Keith and Geese hung out in California and went to a few spots. Keith has some funny Geese stories. I'll let him tell you. He can tell a Geese story better than me. :grin-square:

If a think tank took a session to come up with the best way to make 10-ball less appealing
and more pedestrian....they would've settled on "call shot 10-ball with the option"

Radar?
Or....... Karen Corr's Uncle?
He's just needs a red shirt!

Just sent a text with Rick Scarlato, who is running the tournament.

The incoming player only has the option if a ball is pocketed illegally. If you miss and hook them, they have to go kicking.

With that being said, that is the correct way to play in my opinion and keeps 2 way shots in the game. I have no idea why anyone would back out of the tournament with this being the rule unless they assumed it was the other way.

I agree. That's the way to play 10ball. If you're going to play option on any miss you might as well just play 2shot roll-out. Hell, if you want to take luck totally out might as well play straight pool.

I agree... but like I said, you are taking luck out but you are also taking out some of the most skilled shots in the game as well. Some 2 way shots are super tough to pull off and very rewarding if done successfully. Taking them out of the game is ridiculous.

Calcutta is going strong looks like it will be pretty sporty,Keith might of been the steal of day he only sold for 200

Top pick was Dodong Diamond a pinoy player  1600

Earl went for $650. The Filipino, whose name I'm not sure of, went for the highest amount.

Greg S., who is on site at the tournament, shared this photo on FB entitled "Murderers Row." :D

They call him Dodong Diamond James Aransas i think is his real name

That's him.

Keith said he's never gone that low in a Calcutta in his life, but it only stung a little bit, I guess. I just want him to have fun and enjoy himself to the fullest. :smiling-heart:

Keith said he's having a blast talking to everybody, and Earl has been an ambassador of pool today. Keith said Earl is smiling and taking a lot of time talking to the pool peeps. They are both in good spirits.

Hope to see the chart soon. :)
