So therefore, the shooter violated the law and should be slapped with a fine. Oh wait, he's dead and so are a lot of other people. Now I'm not saying it is wise to have a bunch of drunks wielding guns, but it this particular case I would take my chances with the drunks. I don't have a solution and neither does anyone else, but I can tell you there is a mental illness that has taken hold of people in this country. Guns don't kill people, idiots and evil people do. This is why our constitutional rights are so important. They are being eroded in more areas than just gun rights. Freedom of speech is under attack and my rights have been violated multiple times. When I write something, it is my property, my thought not that of someone with control over a password. When the government or big tech spy's on you, it is a violation of your privacy. Many of us have unwillingly or unknowingly done it many times with mountains of terms and conditions that only a lawyer could interpret and a 900 year old biblical figure would have the time to read. The middle class is gone, the government of the people is on lifeline and the robots are coming. It will all come to a head, it is just a matter of time. Will you be prepared?

Among high-income countries with populations over 10 million:
- The US ranks first for rates of firearm homicides
- The US has the highest gun ownership by far (more than twice the next highest)

So you're saying the US has far more idiots and evil people than other countries.

I travel quite a bit internationally. I think we probably do excell in that area.

If we are pragmatic for just a moment, our ability to address mental health policies and enforcement of existing laws seems far more doable than any attempt to somehow magically eliminate guns from the equation.

And yet when all of these far more "sophisticated" countries get overrun by true evil...who do they turn to for money, weapons, etc? The problem IMO, is that we keep allowing anti-American stupidity/indoctrination to permeate the United States. If you don't believe me, just ask a Jewish college student. You might have trouble catching up to one at the moment. They currently seem to be running for their lives.

It would of...................been shooting in Pool Hall headlines.

I'm Jewish. My grandson is attending Cornell where anti-semitism is currently on full display complete with threats; some of them really serious and quite disturbing. I was texting with him about it last night. He said it's very scary there and many Jewish students are afraid to attend their lectures & classes. The on-campus Center for Jewish Living including its Kosher cafeteria now have 24 hour armed guards. What in the hell is this country of ours being turned into?

Something needs to be changed. That's for sure. Imo, of course.

IMO, it's no wonder folks are upside down mentally speaking. The Covid lockdowns, the isolation, the political polarization...honestly, I am amazed that the country is still standing. I hope your Grandson continues to remain "safe."

Gun ownership can be a very good thing and those who do certainly aren't idiots. They're alive as a result and very happy people. The Liberal news media only reports what they want to convey regarding shootings and gun ownership. Most of it
is exactly what you want to hear and see to continue beating your war drums because it's all negative from their standpoint.
Here are some of the stories you NEVER hear about in the main stream media. It's where guns and gun ownership saved their lives and the criminals ended up where they belonged. Either in jail or unable to hurt another human being ever again.

He turned and saw multiple masked attackers wearing gloves. The store owner drew his firearm and shot at the assailants. An employee inside the store, hearing the commotion, also fired at
the suspects. Two of the attackers died at the scene while a third suspect drove away. The assistant police chief noted "our citizens do have the right to defend themselves, and choices have consequences." Police also said they believe the incident was an example of "jugging," wherein robbers identify potential victims while they're at a bank or ATM and then follow them to their work or home."

Hundreds of these types of real life incidences are on file where owning guns and having them readily available SAVED innocent lives from being murdered or beaten into a zombie state for the rest of their lives.
The press will never cover it honestly.

Live life the way you see fit for yourself. But don't go preaching your beliefs and horseshit to me and the way I should live mine. I WILL defend myself and those I love because crime and criminals are always lurking. I may never have to draw or shoot a gun at another human, even a scumbag criminal but that's a good thing. And even though I have a gun on me at the time of a robbery, home invasion, or out where one may never expect violent crime, I still could come out on the losing end.
But with one, the odds get a lot better on my side.

Nobody is going to get their mind's changed here so why don't the mods just pull it. There's is a HUGE gulf separating the camps and that's fine but this thread has really accomplished NADA.
