Master of the Table...Classic?

He may mean an "unofficial" one, since there are several games, who finished highest in them.
Justin Hall won it last year for 20k. I would assume they are doing it again this year as well. No clue who is in the lead this year though.
Alex & Bustamante lead with Justin Hall finishing in the top 10 in the first 2 events probably 3rd. All 3 have already lost once in the first 3 rounds of 9 ball so if any lose they are done & maybe somebody else could pass all of them if they slip up soon. Bergman did not play in the banks so he probably has no shot.

There is not a master of the table bonus this year thats why some players didnt bother playing all events

well then i guess i looked up all that crap for nothing. i saw another thread about the low turnout, no bonus might have contributed to this a little .
Or maybe the expected low turnout contributed to no bonus.
Greg told justin hall at DCC that there would be no all around at the southern so the turn out had nothing to do with it
The money that was normally set aside for the All Around Champion was spread amongst the other events if I am not mistaken.
I think I heard something like this awhile ago as well. Although I would have liked a middle ground. A $20k bonus may have been a bit high in the past, but it's certainly an honor thing as well.
Maybe they could have done a $5k, $3k, $1k award and spread the rest around.
Completely agree... Master of the Table is always a highlight of these events. A compromise seems much more sensible than doing away with it altogether.
Well to me it seems the big foot challenge is taking away from what derby and the southern was supposed to be about which is the all around player and they added 18, 000 to that this year.
Then you add the fact its an invitational tournament that really only sponsored players can afford. Why not put that 18, 000 towards the tournament that the guys paying there own way took a risk on. JMO
Greg Sullivan is always open to suggestions about how to improve future events. I know this to be true. He reads this forum when times allows, so that is a good thing for you to mention.
Just my guess but it may have more to do with the 9-ball being a BCA points event now.
It has changed to a race to 9 and it also has 25,000 added.
Banks and 1pocket 15,000 added.
Idk what was added before.
To be a points event what does it take? 25K prehaps !
