Why should that be a good thing? I don't see how today's screwy rules warrants a grand equalizer in the form of a leverage for players of lesser skills....or how if that be the case; pool is being played at less than "world class".
If your opponent has now acquired a higher chance of not giving you the ultimate reward of ball in hand, how is it "completely blowing the shot"?

On top of that, you seem to be inferring that it is ok to permit a person to use a tool enabling them to not only hit a shot you masterfully executed, but also increase his/her chance of making the shot and clobbering you....in the name of being mad about new rules.
