Match of the Century? YOU be the Judge -Steve "The Miz" Mizerak vs C J Wiley

CJ, the commentators couldn't get over how completely relaxed you looked, like it was practice. I couldn't either, every ball was hit with no fear and you seemed to get out instantly and casually. Like you'd seen that same runout 1000 times. Did you privately feel nervous? Were you relieved when it was over?

Nice to hear from you Miss Malloy. Thanks for the kind words but I'm as fat as ever. Hope you and Keith are doing well!

i must says that's a Amazing Match !! Mr Wiley your composure at the table impress me alot and wouah what a nutural talent you got there !! simple beautiful to watch !!

Thanks !!

Keeping in touch with everyone on facebook

Thanks for posting CJ. I really enjoyed watching that match. Just seeing this post has got me thinking about some players you don't see or hear from much any more.

Roger Griffis
John Horsfal
David Howard
George Breedlove

I can remember seeing all of you, including Steve Mizerak, in Melbourne Florida for a qualifying tournament that I think was played and recorded in Orlando at the ESPNZone.

I actually remember that picture....I saw Roger Griffis a couple of weeks ago at the State Championships, George I saw a few months ago with Jeanette and I talk to David on Facebook a couple times a month...They are really encouraging me to get back to Promoting full time and that has let to me deciding to do it for 3 straight years as diligently as I can...Aloha Jerry :) IN THIS PICTURE - ROGER GRIFFIS CLICK PICTURE FOR MORE

I watch a lot of matches that are streamed and on You Tube. This, without a doubt, is one of the best matches I have ever seen.

What was amazing to me is the composure and the desire on The Miz to fight back when down 6-1. I know what would of happened to me - score would have wound up being 11-1. I would have been so rattled I probably wouldn't have made another ball.

Also, if I was in CJ's shoes when The Miz started firing back and tied the game I probably would have fallen apart and started thinking how could I lose this match.

Just goes to show you that the mental aspect of the game is so important. There's nothing you can do about the other guy, so just play your game and don't let the gremlins get into your head.

Thanks for sharing.

You can do it, and I would suggest you stop trying to make it complicated and concentrate on what's important - MOMENTUM....pocket billiards and most games and sports are about momentum. It's not like just trading punches in boxing, it's about FLURRIES....and these flurries in pool are either flurries of balls being pocketed or racks being run depending on your skill level RIGHT NOW......Focus on that and just keep telling yourself calmly "Play Well"....and think about WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO to "play well"..does this mean practicing certain shots? Getting in better shape? Staying more positive and looking for the "good things in life"? ......You decide and make it simple.....the secret is always in the simplicity in life

ESPN World Open Tournament TV Matches

Good to see fast, fluent play. Nowhere near enough of it.

I have some classic ESPN matches from the 3 years I reached the finals of the ESPN WORLD OPEN that we are getting ready to show. There are 12 matches in total.

I've watched this match last night, and it made my day, I loved the match so much, to me CJ in the 90's is one of my favorite players to watch, Not just sayin' that cause he's here, but its the truth.

you were playing beuatiful in that tournament, did you go ahead and won in that tournament? If not, who knocked you out, and who are the 2 players in the finals, and who did win it. thanks

Thanks for the response CJ. You are right, I am a master at making it complicated. I always prided myself on being a good trouble shooter in solving problems associated with production lines in manufacturing. I need to look at my game in this same light. Never looked at it that way before. Gives me something to work on. I'm past retirement age, but don't believe in the adage: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks".

I appreciate you taking the time to help us out! Thanks CJ

Wow! What a match!

The only thing keeping it from being the match of the century was there wasn't one really spectacular shot that blew the roof off. Probably due to the perfect position played all match. :)

CJ when I was at the height of my thirst for pool knowledge I was a weak, low rated league player and my mentor gave me the 3 volume instructional cd set that you put out.

You really inspired me and taught me a lot and I soon surpassed my peers and eventually ended up with the highest rating in the league. Thank you for that.

You are an amazing talent and a class act, Sir.

It may have been that year Tony Ellin beat me in the Finals....I'd have to check...but Pool Was HOt , EVERYONE Was Doing It and Only One Guy Could Be the BEST

make the game play the way you want by hitting the same type of shot consistently.

thanks for the link. great match. impressive:cool:

Glad you liked it ... I think it represented how I do my 3 Part Pocket System well...it was clear to me that I was positioned slightly on the inside of the cue ball every time.....I like to play for hours at a time and NEVER use outside english....it makes the game more fun (to me) and you MUST make the game play the way you want by hitting the same type of shot consistently.

As good a match as I've ever seen. In addition to the position play, I especially appreciate the confidence on long shots displayed by both players. Excellent.

I haven't really played any since this years Derby City. This video fired me up to want to play again! Thanks for posting.

Mike Sigel vs CJ Wiley

CJ still plays pretty sporty. :)

Thanks, but don't tell anyone, it's our secret...LoL just kiddin, hey, I've had to put my game back together piece by piece with help from a lot of my pro friends....Earl, Buddy, Hunter L.,Corey D., Charlie B.,Rodney Morris, and Johnny gave me some very good "pieces" and I had a lot of it written down from MANY years ago. CLICK PICTURE for another one.

First Pro Tournament

I'm glad you liked it....that was my first pro tournament, it seems like an eternity ago

I'm glad Ruben.....I may even to the Derby this year. I've just been to it once for one of those Kevin Trudeau qualifiers.
