Sad news JAM! Matt Braun was certainly a major player for decades. His events consistently gave the pros opportunities to earn far more than the average event! RIP Mr. Braun. You will be missed. On another note, I always wished that Keith had been in one of those Challenge of Champions events.

Matt produced a variety of televised pool events, really did a lot for getting some unique tournaments on tv.
Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Matt was a good man and he loved Pool. I'm proud of the time I spent with him working on the early Challenge of Champions shows.

Just saw this. I took photos for him at one of the trick shot shows in Vegas. Didn't get to know him well but he and his wife were very nice to me. Mr. Braun was able to keep pool on tv when everyone else dropped out. Thats saying something. RIP and condolences to his family and friends.

JAM.....I have done searches since you made this thread.

Matt Braun is still being referred to in the present tense.
...for about two days, one site used the past tense and then took it down...
...I searched OK obits also.

We need your computer skills...please track this info down.

I had no idea how prolific Mr Braun was...my thoughts of him were all pool related.
I started on western novels while young...Zane Grey was my preteen favorite.
I've read most of Loren D Estleman...and all of Elmore Leonard ...the westerns.

...going to start collecting some Matt Braun.

It would be great if he has not passed away. It is not the first time that social media has a false alarm on someone's passing, e.g., Grady, Paez, et cetera.

I just trust Ewa travels in circles that are "in the know," so to speak.

Thanx, Jen.....I still hope it's not so....he'll be 84 this year.

Strange that the literary world doesn't know anything.
