Maybe someday this will replace the router

I wonder how that can mount on the taper machine.:D

You have that flat guide plate which should be easy enough to mount to.
What you run into with a lot of hobby tools is that they are not continuous duty on the motors. So they are made to run a minute or two and sit for a while and cool off. My concern for that saw would be is it continuous duty? If it is then it might be worth a try. Let us know how it works out.

I bet this blade has less deflection and more feel too. :D

You guys sound like Don Cheato in Boogie Nights.

I believe a Flux Capacitor is used mainly for time travel.

You may end up in George Balabushka's shop, which would be a good thing.

I wouldn't bet my life on it but I am fairly confident that it would not make any improvement on a shaft blank being turned and I would think the outcome would be considerably worse. Less teeth than a table saw blade for one detriment. One item in a shaft machines construction that never get's tested, as far as I know of, is a variable speed motor driving the blade so that the resonance caused by each individual saw tooth striking the shaft can correspond to the deflection of the shaft being struck by that tooth. It seems that a speed could be found where the blade and shaft speeds compliment each other in resonance for a much smoother cut.

Was considering a similar one for some of my work, but never got there. In any relation it should be better than a router-more teeth/Sec but that would be on of the latest passes. For hogging I guess you would most likely use a router bit.
Compared to a table saw setup-> for those having one it would be no good, but for those wanting to do their best with what they have-it's a option- specially if a saw setup is out of reach.
Good thought
