Please take the time and read this entire POST!!!!!! These are the payouts that our league operator pay's out 3 times a year at our Regional Tournaments. I hope that this will stop all the bashing about the APA that goes on.
$75,000 TRI-ANNUALS
Tier-1 8Ball; Tier-2 8Ball;
Tier-1 9Ball; Tier-2 9Ball;
and Masters.
The APA runs (3) League Session per year. The APA Year runs Summer - Fall - Spring. At the end of each League Session, the Championship team from each Division advances to a Tri-Annual Tournament. Since we run (3) League Sessions per year, we also run (3) $75,000 Tri-Annual Tournaments per year, one following each League Session.
This format allows your team (3) chances to win your Division, (3) chances to advance to a Tri-Annual Tournament and (3) chances to advance to the $100,000 Las Vegas Qualifier Tournament ... each year! Please note that our Tier-2 Tri-Annuals are played for cash and trophies only (and to gain valuable "Upper Level" tournament experience!) ... no Tier-2 Team can advance to our Las Vegas Qualifiers, or on to Las Vegas. These must be earned through play in the Tier-1 Tri-Annuals. Playing in a Tier-2 Tri-Annual will get your team ready for the time they can compete in a Tier-1 event.

Tier-1 8-Ball Tri-Annuals:
The goal of each 8-Ball team entering into a Tri-Annual Tournament is to get their team 'Qualified" to participate in the annual Local Team Championship (LTC) tournament, known locally as the 8-Ball Las Vegas Qualifier.
EVERY TEAM in EVERY Tri-Annual is
GUARANTEED TO CASH!
Since many of our players and teams must travel 50, or more miles and
needed to schedule 2 or more weekends to compete in the Tri-Annual events,
we no longer "play down to a winner".
The Tri-Annuals have been modified to reduce the travel to no more than 2 trips.
In addition, $10,000 has been added to the paybacks.
The new payback schedule is:
IN THE SUMMER TRI-ANNUAL (Top 8 Qualify):
1st Place: (4 Teams) $2,400.00 + Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
2nd Place: (4 Teams) $1,200.00 + Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
3rd Place: (12 Teams) $ 600.00 4th Place: (16 Teams) $ 300.00 5th - Last Place: $ 200.00
IN THE FALL & SPRING TRI-ANNUALS (Top 12 Qualify):
1st Place: (6 Teams) $2,400.00 + Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
2nd Place: (6 Teams) $1,200.00 + Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
3rd Place: (12 Teams) $ 600.00 4th Place: (16 Teams) $ 300.00 5th - Last Place: $ 200.00
The further each team advances in a Tri-Annual, the closer they are to becoming 'qualified'.
The top teams, as shown below, advance to the Las Vegas Qualifier:
This makes the Annual 8-Ball Las Vegas Qualifier a 32 Team Modified Single Elimination Event (where each team is guaranteed to PLAY twice - not to LOSE twice), comprised of the top finishing teams from each of the (3) Tri-Annuals for the previous year.
Each APA Franchise area, around the US and Canada, (and soon - Japan) is awarded 'Slots' to the APA's National team Championship Tournaments held each year in August at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The number of 'slots' awarded is totally dependent on the number of teams competing weekly in each franchise area. The larger each grows, the more teams advance to Las Vegas! Our growth over the years has seen our slot count increase from 4 teams several years ago, to 10 teams last year (and we keep growing!)
Our 32 team 8-Ball Las Vegas Qualifier tournament sent 12 8-Ball teams to Las Vegas in 2009!
This makes the annual Masters Las Vegas Qualifier an 8 Team Modified Single Elimination Event (where each team is guaranteed to PLAY twice - not to LOSE twice), comprised of the top finishing teams from each of the (3) Tri-Annuals for the previous year.

$8,500.00+
Tier-1 9-Ball Tri-Annuals:
The goal of each 9-Ball team entering into a Tri-Annual Tournament is to get their team 'Qualified" to participate in the annual Local Team Championship (LTC) tournament, known locally as the 9-Ball Las Vegas Qualifier.
1st Place: (4 Teams) $800.00 + Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
2nd Place: (4 Teams) $400.00 + Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
3rd Place: (8 Teams) $200.00 + (only in the Fall) - Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
4th - Last Place: $ 150.00
The further each team advances in a Tri-Annual, the closer they are to becoming 'qualified'.
The top teams, as shown below, advance to the Las Vegas Qualifier:
Summer Tri-Annual: top 4 teams;
Fall Tri-Annual: top 8 teams;
Spring Tri-Annual: top 4 teams
This makes the annual 9-Ball Las Vegas Qualifier a 16 Team Modified Single Elimination Event (where each team is guaranteed to PLAY twice - not to LOSE twice), comprised of the top finishing teams from each of the (3) Tri-Annuals for the previous year.
Our growth over the years has seen our slot count increase from 2 teams several years ago, to 6 teams last year (and we keep growing!)
Our 16 team 9-Ball Las Vegas Qualifier tournament sent SIX 9-Ball teams to Las Vegas in 2009!

$2,800.00+
Masters Tri-Annuals:
The goal of each Masters team entering into a Masters Tri-Annual Tournament is to get their team "Qualified" to participate in the annual Local Team Championship (LTC) tournament, known locally as the Masters Las Vegas Qualifier.
EVERY TEAM in EVERY Tri-Annual is
GUARANTEED TO CASH!
Our Masters Tri-Annuals start and finish in 1 day, meaning:
our Masters Players only need to travel to their Tri-Annual Tournament 1 time!
We no longer "play down to a winner".
The new payback schedule is:
1st Place: (2 Teams) $480.00 + Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
2nd Place: (2 Teams) $320.00 + (only in the Fall) Individual Trophies & Host Location Banner
3rd Place: (4 Teams) $160.00
4th - Last Place: $ 80.00
The further each team advances in a MASTERS Tri-Annual, the closer they are to becoming 'qualified'.
The top teams, as shown below, advance to the MASTERS Las Vegas Qualifier:
Summer Tri-Annual: top 2 teams;
Fall Tri-Annual: top 4 teams
Spring Tri-Annual: top 2 teams.
Each APA Franchise League Operator, around the US and Canada, (and soon - Japan) requests 'slots' for this event, held each year in August at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The number of 'slots' awarded is totally dependent on the number of slots requested. In addition, certain League Operators who have requested a slot (or slots), eventually find they can't field the position, so they return their unused slots to the APA to be allotted to those on a waiting list. We are ALWAYS on the waiting list and actually send more teams to Las vegas than originally 'slotted" (the additional number depends each year on the number of 'slots' turned into the APA).
Our 8 team Masters Las Vegas Qualifier tournament sent 4 Masters teams to Las Vegas in 2008!

Tier-2 8-Ball Tri-Annuals:
The goal of each 8-Ball team entering into a Tier-2 Tri-Annual Tournament is to get their team "Upper Level Tournament" experience. We realize that most new teams do not qualify as a Tier-1 team for their 1st few sessions, therefore, the Tier-2 Tri-Annuals have been specifically designed for those teams. While they are gaining "League Play Experience", they can also experience the thrill and the competition of "Upper Level" play.
