Mechanics... Diomond Tables

The more I read this thread the more confused I get. So which way is the hump supposed to go with the intercontinental 66 rubber on diamond tables? How about when they're used on GCs? I guess I'm just easily confused

Two posts in this entire thread from you, and that qualifies you to start calling posters "minions"...hmmm, well...if you say so, but personally, I think it's out of line, no one else in this thread as refereed to any other poster in that manner...so why you? On Meulers web site, they don't show the "new" cushions you're talking about, the 36-218 cushions, not the way your picture shows them with the canvas control strip on top, but the web site picture shows them the same way Diamond installs them, meaning the canvas is on the flat side...did you photoshop that picture or something?

Your absolutely right about the door planer and other jigs....I would never say anything more than.....your a great mechanic for sure.

But incase you have forgotten.....you were at my apartment...saw a sub-rail sitting in the corner and ask what the hell is that....I said it's a sub-rail from from a Gold Crown 3......I also said I cut them off to the formica and replace the complete sub-rail.

The first thing you said was I'm crazy and that you shouldn't do that...I showed you my festool and track....again you said you don't need that...cost to much.
Two weeks later from us talking on the phone 3 or 4 times a day....and yes you were coming up with idea after idea....which your the master of jigs and how to make cheap tool work great.

One week later you ask would I show Bobby DeTurk and Pat O'donald how to patch the rails with 1/4" bottoms...1/4" tops.....and patch the corners...I said absolutely.
When they came down....I showed them just how you described to me over the phone on how to do the work.
I told Bobby...man this is the first time I've eve done this kind of patch work so we're learning this shit together......I cut the whole sub-rail off and put on a new one.

Well you talked to me for a year and a half about how wrong I was cutting the whole sub-rail off.......So to keep the idea yours....just as ever idea with a pool table on the planet is yours.....you ran around showing everyone you talked with that was wheeling to learn from you...how to patch the rails......two years later you finally said your right Mark it's best to cut the sub-rail off.
Why is it you can't give anyone props for anything....you have to always tear someone down....or you thought of it first....you wouldn't even give Jay credit for making the DVD......little do people know....you would have never made it without him.

Never once did I not give you credit for helping me in tons of ways....just as I've helped give you plenty of idea for Diamond....that you take claim for....do I care....not at all...but don't come on here trying to make me look like some kind of sucker.....now for running your mouth....let's just have a rail build off...for what ever you want to put up...and what ever rules you want to go by....

Because as usual the hungarian troll had to jump in and insult the OP even though he had already applogized for even mentioning Diamond and admitted he was just blowing off steam. And the OP was being quite civil all along. Up until then I was just reading and learning. What I was reading however, now that you mention it was two grown men arguing like third graders. Mark, you're a great table mechanic, there's no doubt about that, but you're not the only person to have cut the sub-rails off the front of rails and built out new from there. I see no need in cutting the entire sub-rails off if there's no damage in the sub-rails to justify that kind of rebuild, but I guess that's where we're a little different. And for the record, I'm the one that taught you how to cut back under the Formica and remove the wood under the corners of the ends of the rails so you didn't have to cut back the Formica, and the first person I showed that little trick to was Zach, way before you were doing it.

Mark, I have built over 500 home style pool tables, invented and built 128 of my own coin-operated pool tables, led Diamond into the coin-op world with their coin-operated pool tables. Designed and built their Billiard tables. Improved how their tables play by redesigning their sub-rails. Invented the Diamond ball polisher they sell world wide. Owned 3 pool halls, built a Billiard service business up to 328 bars servicing over 1,000 coin-op pool tables a year. Designed the Ridgeback rails with Kerry.

Do you really feel like there's anything you can do to a set of rails that I can't do as well?

How about this for a challenge, I'll pick a pool room with Diamond/Gold Crown's in it, and we'll meet up there and start working on the tables at that location, only rule is...once there, neither of us can leave the parking lot to go do the work somewhere else...how's that for a challenge?????

Frost off Bobby DeTurk showed me how to cut under the a d on the side of the rails. Are you a great table mechanic.....by all means yes.

Do you really believe your harbor freight tools are going to out perform my festool tools in a parking lot.....I don't even need my saw stop table saw with Incra fences.....just a little challenge....but again we go off track with your answers.

No need for this childish play....I apologize to everyone that is tired of hearing me telling the truth. Glen is even a better man at turning things around than he is a table mechanic and that shows how many talents the man has. I'm going to miss getting on the real king cobra forum.
Good luck....glen pushed another mechanic out.

From here on out...there all just glens ideas.

This is frustrating. Firetrain up in Ontario still needs his snooker table rails done. Islandracer's table is still banking short. Diamond tables are still not all playing great everywhere and after all this we still can't determine if Mark or Glen has the bigger dick.:frown:

Get over it Mark, just pay attention to what you do for work and stop worring about what me, or anyone else is doing to rails or tables, and you'll be a lot happier:D
