Any thing made now by Meucci is second rate at best. They are no longer a first rate cue maker. Very sad.
Its not a true Meucci if it dosent say Original first, 
Sad because the brand had so much respect at one time... Of course this is only a matter of opinion.
Get a classic with original shaft... No red dot no black dot, you should be happy. Well at least if you happen to like the hit and feel of these cues.

I play with a early 90"s meucci with a custom made shaft and like it better than any cue i've tried. I would guess many on here who bash meucci have actually never even played with one. Its more of a get on the bash meucci banwagon type mentality.
I had one back around 1986 when they were supposed to be well made.
It played lights out. I could move the cue ball easier with this cue then any cue I ever had.
Then the ferrule cracked which was not uncommon so I put a new one on.
Then the cue warped,nothing I do about that.
But for 6 months it played great.
And the new Meuccis have great designs and probably play well,but I have heard too many stories about quality issues to recommend them.
And really I do like a handful of the designs and if the quality was there I would probably get one.
And I don't hate the Meucci company but it is sad that an American company is putting out a product that by all accounts is sub par. If Viking , McDermott and some others can produce a good cue here in this country then why not Meucci?

I have had over 30 meucci's and have never had a butt to warp. I have six now and all are straight. I do like the older meucci's better, and I do understand they went through a period of making junk, but it doesn't take away the fact that some meucci's play better than most other production cue's. I have always had the ferrels changed on all meucci's I play with. As far as black dot shafts are concerned they are junk and I have never seen a straight one. I do have one red dot shaft that hits great, its just a little to small of mm for me. When I started back playing I bought several different cue's and non played like a meucci.

Had I not wanted to make a custom cue with a bunch of elements from my Navy uniform, I would still be playing with a Meucci. I had around 10 at one point, sold some, still have 4 or 5. There are 2 that I played with heavily, and I really loved the way they played.
I had several Meucci turds as well- it's unfortunately hit or miss with them. If I'm to believe another post I just read, apparently Buddy Hall is going to represent them. If Meucci is taking steps to get back to the player community and clean up their image, I'm excited to see what they do in the next few years.

I truly wish them success.There is no reason why they can't make a first class production cue.
I think they need a first class SOB over seeing quality control.
AGREED, still needa get my hands on one eventually.
I have well over 50 Meucci cues here and I can't say any of them are junk. I can put a $12 J&J shaft on them, and they still hit good.
When I order new Meucci cues, I order all cues with a 13mm shaft...including the red dot and black dot. Yeah...I have to send a lot back because of defects, but even the cues with the defects hit good.:smile:
I wouldn't mind trying an older Meucci.
I have a PP1 with a Black Dot shaft and wouldn't consider selling it.

I respectfully dissagree with those that say Meucci is junk.
I have had many, and none were junk.
I liked the originals, and everything that came after.
They play different. Take the time with one to see what they can really do.

I would buy another in a hertbeat. To me, there is nothing else that hits like a Meucci. This from a guy that has broken only a few cues . All Meucci's.

I shot with the Meucci down in Tunica this last week, and honestly they are a great hitting cue. I am not real sure which one I tried, but I tried many different cues. I tried his very cheapest cue he had, and would trade any cue, but my Dieckman for that one... I wonder how many of you have ever even tried comparing these new cues to anything? Bob is making good stuff again don't be scared try one!!
I was never a huge fan of Meucci cues, but I have recently become a fan of Bob. My father lives in TN, and he knows how much I love pool. Awhile back he picked up a Meucci Original at a garage sale, and asked me if it was worth anything. He sent me pictures and it had a cracked butt cap. Told him it probably wasn't worth much in its current condition, but if he got it fixed it could be worth something. Long story short, when I went to visit him we made the 30 minute drive to the Meucci HQ, walked in and talked to Bob. He had one of his guys put a new cap on it, showed us around, shot a few games with us and even gave me a few pointers on my game. I left that day with a fixed Meucci Original Jimmy Rempe model 2 (JR-2), along with a new cue for me and one for my dad. Wholesale prices on the new cues. I barely take the JR-2 out anywhere, and I've already had 3 people offer to buy it. And they seem to like the new one, too. Maybe he's not making cues to his old standards, but I think they're still pretty nice. And Bob is a heck of a nice guy.

My brother and I use to sell them back in the 70's and 80's. And we sold a bunch of them. And they were good cues. A couple of years ago I had a guy that wanted a power piston 4. We ordered it but when it came the inlays in the points were cracked and the finish was uneven. We called in about it and got the run around. We sent it back and called for over 6 months trying to get a replacement or our money back nothing. They finally sent another cue out but by then the original buyer had bought another cue elsewhere. So we wound up selling it on ebay and taking a bath. After that I swore I'd never deal with them again. So the guys on here that are saying Meucci is getting a bad rap and people are just hating on them for no good reason. must not have dealt with Meucci directly. I know I'm not the only one that has been hung out by this company.
