There have been numerous threads and disagreements on this issue.
Meucci cues with the "MEUCCI ORIGINAL" logo were made from around 1972 to 1990. There was one line of cues, I believe that came out in the late '80s with the new "script" logo, which became the official logo in 1990. In the past decade, there have been fake MEUCCI ORIGINALS made in Asia, and to make things more confusing, Meucci is apparently making cues again with the "MEUCCI ORIGINAL" logo.
I played with a Meucci Original from 1981-1987, and again from 1992-1995, and I loved them. I currently have three MOs from the 1984 catalog that play quite nicely (and are for sale).
In 2002, I bought a brand new Meucci HP3. Beautiful cue. The first time I struck a ball with it, the tip came off. The cue never really worked for me, even when I tried a black dot shaft. I bought another new Meucci about that time just to re-sell, and was amazed to find that when I switched shafts between the two Meuccis, the joints did not line up!!
I've heard that Bob Meucci has straightened out their production problems, and they are making quality cues again, but how can you be sure what you're getting?
