Here's one of the points. The Ivory Borders are .005". What you probably can't gather from the photo is that instead of randomly cutting out the Abalone inserts, they were cut out from the Abalone in the exact spots they will appear in the cue, to keep the patterns as they were in the sheet. I guess there wasn't much point because the pieces are so tiny and far enough apart, it will probably never be noticed.

When Mickey told me he wanted the double barbells, I told him I hated that design. When the cue's 5 feet away, it looks like 2 silver rings. When it's close, you can see the details. Now I like them.
 
Damn fine work. The "book matching" of the abalone is representative of a sick mind...
Gotta love that:)
 
i really want to get this cue in my hands....i have 2 to try out this weekend wish this cue was one of them....

I was flooded the week before the expo, which was when I intended on finishing up your cue. Last year, I worked in water, but I am a miserable f**k and refused to do that this year. Perhaps I should have learned from the flood last year, but it was the only time I have had water in almost 10 years living here. I was going to address it last summer, but it turned in to a lot more work than expected and I said screw it, it normally doesn't rain like it did last year.

Anyway, I did not touch your cue this week. I have several that should have been done for the expo and have been working on them one at a time to finish them up.

What I have left is the two bottom rings and the inlays inside of the boxes om the butt. It's not a lot of inlays, once I have the pieces made, but your pieces are not something I can bang out in an hour. It is a couple of days work.

I doubt that I will be done next week, but I will try for the week after. I know you've been waiting. I will not send you the cue until I am satisfied with it. If I am satisfied with the macro photos I take, you will get the cue. If I am not, I will fix some things.

The good news is that as of right now, I am satisfied.

That was the first thing i noticed also but i know Tony is happily married.
Would like to see this cue. Post pics when done.

as am I...........so dont read it the wrong way....and anyway i am twice tonys size so you can guess how that would turn out....:p
