Congrats on back to back wins of the Ocean State 9-Ball Tourney.
It's never easy to win events back to back like that.
Awesome to win it in your home room. At least I think it's your home room.
Was a rough match from both of you, but you prevailed.

Somebody's hat size just grew an inch, even after Shaw handed him the match.

Mike beat Jayson twice, 9-4 and 9-6. You can make all the excuses you like for Jayson but Mike was the better player this weekend in Rhode Island. In the final match, Mike broke and ran the first three racks and also the last two. That's not exactly winning by default, is it?

What we've got here is the best rivalry in pro pool right now. As a fan, I think it's great to watch. I'm glad I took the trouble to attend the event this weekend.

Mike and Jayson are both phenomenal players and each will hoist many a trophy going forward. it was Mike's turn, next time may be Jayson's. We shall see.

Yeah, I used to think Mike was kind of an asshole. I'm sure he still can be at times, but after I got waxed by him at the Open this year, he definitely gained my utmost respect. Guy plays super sporty, and it's a pleasure to see how big of a rack mechanic he really is. It's impressive.

Congrats!

I do like this match up, but I still think the rivalry between Alex and Shane is the most fun to watch. Mike and Jayson are fun though. Seems like neither of them has ever seen a shot their strokes didn't like... Congrats to Mike on getting the better of this meeting.

All the best,

Congratulations, Mike.
Double dipping Jayson in the finals is no small feat.

Well earned victory!

He did beat him twice but the first one was for the hotseat, then Jayson won the first set of the finals and Mike the second.

What's shaking, Koop? Long time no see. Hope my post wasn't misleading. Mike beat Jayson to win the hot seat. In the final, Jayson won the first set and Mike won the second set to win the title.

... What Joe Tucker said!

Hey Stu, hope you're well my friend. No, totally my bad. I got it wrong.

You going to the SBE this coming year? Hope to see you.

Great match and there was friction between the two. This is what makes them get better.
I can think back many years and still remember the players that made me better and rest assured they were the guys I could not stand to lose to.

Nice job Mike and Jayson

This is a well-judged post. These guys respect each other as competitors but there is definitely a grudge between the two when they play.

I agree that as you suggest, they are pushing each other to a higher level.
