good shit brock!! it's nice to see someone see it the way i do. i feel bad when i see people get taken advantage of. i see it as the difference between the men and the boys. the men stand up for the little guys who are getting picked on and the boys are the ones who gotta pick on the people who can't defend themselves.
You know Jason. The times may be a changin'. The days of tolerance of hustling may becoming a thing of the past.
If you have your way, the pool rooms in Phoenix wouldn't have any hustling and maybe that's good thing for some.
I grew up in the pool rooms developing a radar on my own because that is the way it was done then. NO ONE protected you. NO ONE acted as a buffer between you and the hustler. You either learned how to defend yourself or you paid the consequences. You either became wary of the hustlers and the games they play or you became their prey.
Some of my early losses helped build my fortitude and I am thankful for the lessons I learned early on.
Today it is a bit different and while I don't like to see anyone robbed, I still find the flim-flam man a curiosity and a chance to become a little wiser.
There's nothing wrong with you protecting your flock if that's the way the room owners want it.
I don't know puddin' from dumplings and while it is your right to ban him from your tournaments, your side of the story is only one part of the story. The only reason I am mentioning this is that one part of the thread alluded to the "fact" that pudding previously worked at the same company with Gene (who I don't know from beans)
and that turned out to be not true, (according to Gene).
So there are always different sides to the same story, we'll probably never hear puddin's side. Puddin probably isn't working for this year's goody-two shoes award.
