Mike Sigel Larry Lisciotti Straight Pool video

Thanks for posting this. As a fifty something I'm always interested in seeing video of the players who were in their prime when I was younger. But, boy, the quality of the commentary for this made up match is brutal!

When Larry scratched on his final break shot, it looks to me like the ref failed to spot the ball that went into the head-rail pocket at 56:54. If that ball had been spotted, it might have prevented Mike from having that 12-ball in the far corner as his second-to-last shot.

C'mon man, this is one of Pretty Boy Floyd's finest moments here! haha

Only bested by his incredibly helpful instructional pool video

(belated April fools btw)

Great match tho

I had no idea who this guy was until looking him up just now. I always thought that Ewa Mataya Laurance had a middle name of Mataya! Kind of like getting the lyrics to a popular song wrong! Glad I missed that chapter/decade.

I tell ya, Gene Rayburn's got nothing on Pretty Boy Floyd.

Thanks for posting, Dennis.

The video skips the second rack. The score jumped from 10-3 (Sigel had a scratch in the first rack) to 25-3 so someone may have thought there are 15 points per rack. A little later Liscotti is at a break shot with the score 42-15. At the end of that rack, it's Sigel ahead 52-15 (with no fouls). It's hard to find good help.

I think the sponsoring organization, the WCBA, had exactly one event.

I am also thankful this Holy Saturday for a mute button.

And did you notice the ref's oversight I mentioned in post #4. It could have affected the outcome of the match.

I'm afraid I had to run off to 14.1 league, so I didn't get that far. I guess the ref had never actually played 14.1 before because that's the kind of mistake only beginners make.

I saw it but didn't comment. It did allow Sigel to have a shot up table but he still would have a shot on the ball on the foot rail. He would have had to bridge over a ball but it was a makeable shot.

No question it was a mistake from the referee and a good catch on your part.
