Something about Sigel being very disrespectful to women players. Someone said they would love to see Fisher or Corr mop the floor with his mouth. I agree - I would pay top $$ to see that.

I strongly believe and stand by this - I dont think Mike would stand a chance against either one of them.:D

In addition I would like to add that he did place below Jasmine and J Lee at the past 14.1 tournament.

Even if Seigal does not believe that women can hang with the men at this point, he is either kidding himself or more likely trying to generate interest with the IPT audience.

Yeah it could all be a hustle. Honestly judging from what a large group of top rated players think about women top rated players - it seems like they really look down on them. Its gonna bite em in the a$$ one day.

Like I said before its almost a no win for INSTANCE if Allison won KOH ( I think Corey will win next ) BUT if a woman did win it they would say - well she got all the rolls and was very lucky she could never do it again - so they would give her no credit - it she got to the finals and lost - they would say - no surprise.

I guess you are talking about Sigel.

If so, he would be the one doing the mopping against Fisher or Corr.

I also reckon that J Lee can get some straight pool action ANYTIME with Sigel.

Yeah - I guess well see soon enough. He KNEW he couldnt hack it and no offence to LJJ but thats why they picked her - ALSO - no offence to anyone but they would never allowed a woman to be King of the Hill, IMHO.

As for some 14.1 action against Lee - Im not saying I would bet on her - I just said he came in below TWO GIRLIE GIRLS in the event. I woulnt even point it out but hes the one that says no woman has a chance against him.
I doubt the would put up some huge $$ of his own against either Fisher or Corr. They both beat some of the biggest names in pool today at the KOH

On second thought - I would put my money on Lee.

You are on crack. Mike Sigel would destroy Karen, Allison or any other woman player at any game. Playing nine ball, I think him giving either of them the 7 and the last 3 would not be out of line.

playing devils advocate...I bet some of the older Pros are pissed because the mens tours have had hard times, while you see re-runs of every womens event constantly run on ESPN.

Busto,
The part about "the rolls" is correct, but correct for ANYONE who wins an eight ball tournament. Unfortunately, eight ball is very similar to 9-ball in that the results of the power break are a HUGE factor in who wins any single game. While Efren gets around this better than everyone else; the winner will inevitably be the person who gets the best "rolls."

On the other hand, you can't go wrong listening to pineknot. I think JL is the very best women's straight pool player (or perhaps JO now), but while she is competitive with any man, she would definitely have to be the underdog against Mike Sigel. She IS, however, capable of beating anyone in the world in a given single short (200 or less) game of 14.1. In a game to a thousand, though, I doubt JL would find many backers against Mike (though, hell, I might just to see the match).

I'M positive MS is playing alot better now that he has had 6 months of pra-ctice, but I watched the Allison-FEIJEN and Corr-Archer they both had my attention I was very impressed, especially Ms.Corr so much that I introduced myself and congratulated her.Anybody takes them lightly would be making a huge mistake i think they both shoot straighter than i do as a matter of fact i better practice.

In the Northeast, Karen long ago won the respect of near every male player. She has beaten most everyone and not just once either.

Mike Sigel -- Great Player but a POMPOUS *SS!

IMHO anyone who believes Sigel would just walk all over either Karen Corr or Allison Fisher (especially in IPT 8-Ball) must be a the ones on crack:eek: Sigel was one of the greatest players ever....and maybe he still is.....but the fact remains if he doesn't bring his "A Game", either of these two women will kick his *ss. Nothing anyone can say can convince me otherwise. I've believed for more than 15-20 years now that women can compete and beat the men at pool. There's nothing preventing it.......strength is not an issue....many 'not so heavy' men pool players have MONSTER breaks......what's Busta weigh---maybe 120 lbs.?? -----it will be a pleasure to watch Mike Sigel get beat by a woman (and it WILL happen)......then watch as he comes up with some lame excuse..........

Karen and Allison will dispose of Mike easily if they match up.
Hopefully Mike doesn't break his stick.

I thought Sigel was rather rude in his comments about the women. I do think they are at a disadvantage due to the power break required in 8 ball. I think with a little more time they will get the break down so they can pocket a ball consistently like they do in 9 ball. Sigel would have a tough time against Corr or Fisher.

You don't actually believe that do you? Objectively you think they could beat him? Of course you are comparing two players at what is the height of their powers against a player who hasn't played in years. Just that fact shows who is the best player, Mike needs to be a complete cripple to even have this conversation. Would you say the same thing if he decided to get back in stroke?

He hasn't been playing all that great since coming back.
Allison and Karen are always on deadstroke when they show up for tournaments.
Karen embarrassed Johnny Archer.
Allison was a betting favorite had she and Mike played the finals supposedly.

Yes I would say the same thing - womens pool isnt what it was when Mike was in his prime. They play stronger and harder. Mike is no better than Karen or Allison - just WHAT do these women have to do to make you realize that they can play. How many top rated men do they have to beat. If not Archer then who ... is Neils not good enough? What? Comeone - they are not weak little bangers put on a table to look pretty and keep the boys around. They are strong with talent and now they are going to be mixing it up and getting stronger. They have more advantage to grow. They own great game.

Hell yeah she is -- if you had 10K on the side who would you drop it on. NOT to mention the fact that i BELIEVE - it may not be true but I suppose that LJJ played a little under what she could have. I dont think she was supposed to win even if she could have. I honestly think it was a " if your gonna win, dont" .... she still made bank

And yes totally objectively, if I were to lay big $$ down, it would be on Corr or Fisher against Mike. If I would of had to bet on Neils and Fisher ... I would of lost the bet. Archer and Karen ... I would of lost the bet.

Yeah, Mike only won more than 100 major titles against the best the game has to offer over a 15 year span. Allison and Karen have together won maybe 20 or 30 matches total when they are matched against guys who can actually play.

This whole argument has been done to death a million times. The simple fact is that even the best women have no chance against the best men, it's not sexist, just a simple fact. The women may win the odd match here and there, but let them play an ahead set for a decent sum and you can pretty much bet whatever you own that the guy is going to come out on top.

My post was not addressing that. You are right-it's been done to death.

What actually is the claim here, Allison playing the best she has ever played in her life plays as good as Mike if he is dead out of stroke and that is supposed to make some profound point about women players?

In the entire history of the world, you may have just found the bet that will be the easiest to get down.
