Last night I made my first visit to Gregg's new room. They had the Colorado juniors 8 ball championship( a number of young girls playing-and lots of pink cues and cases) followed by an exhibition by Nick Varner and Karen Corr. This is my second time seeing Nick and he does a good job with some good humor thrown in.
Nick is well worth booking at any room.I was only there a short time but this is what I saw.
12 (?) brand new Diamond bar tables with Cyclops balls.
4 9' Diamonds with Cyclops balls-well spaced playing area
Excellent Diamond (?) lights over each table
Carpet on the floor
Plenty of tables and stools
A beautiful real wood bar
6 or 7 poker tables filled with people playing
Nice clean mens room
Well lighted and ample parking
And a general impression that Greg spent some serious money making this room look rather upscale.
I would say this is a must see room for anyone coming to Colorado.
And Greg did not bribe Measureman with free Bourbon to write this review.

My day was spent at Famous Door for the APA tournament but I'll be checking this place out sometime

I was there Thursday night and just got back from there a few minutes ago. Love the place, and it will be my new home. Today sucked though. I had the big table in the corner, and couldn't keep spectators out of my way. If I have to ask somebody to move so I can play on the table I'm paying for more than three times, then I'm done. Some guy named Nick and a lady named Karen were there drawing a crowd!
Beautiful place to play!

You should have just told them damn bangers to get off the table so you could practice in peace!

Pick a night and we can play like we talked about before.

Its great to hear you guys like the room. I can't wait to check it out. it was not a good weekend to travel down to the lowcountry. In two weeks I will be in Vegas for the MC and after that I will take another whooping from you in straight pool.
It would be great to meet up with you again Tokyo-dave!

Sounds like a great room! I should be in there Saturday night, after Thanksgiving. I'll be stopping for a few hour layover from driving, on my way to San Francisco. Looking forward to meeting some AzBrs.

The only downside of this room would possibly be for out of town people as it's way on the other side of the greater Denver area from the airport. For me it's close. About the same distance as Hanks, and sad to say, Hanks loses here when it comes to cleanliness, atmosphere, clientele, equipment, and price of table time.

I think you got it covered.
Did you ask if there is going to be day time special rates like Hanks or felt have?

I got free water there today. There are only 4 9 foot tables and they are just a hair under 4" corner pockets. They were in use so I drove home without playing. Its a beautiful place. Great for leagues and tournaments on the 12 bar boxes. I hope it works out for them.

I went there today for the first time. The nice thing for me is its 15 min from my home. Beautiful place. I wish it had more 9' tables and fewer 7' but thats the way things are going. I got to see the Cyclop balls for the first time. I hate the colors. You have to look at the numbers on the balls to determine which ball is which. Also, I do not understand why in the world they would make all 4 of the 9' tables stupid tight. I can see making 1 table very tight for those who like that, but really most people have a hard enough time with 4.5" pockets. I guess I'll be back there but I will continue to drive the 30 min it takes me to get to Felt.

Special thanks to Karen and especially Nick Varner for supporting pool, and making me feel star struck getting to really talk to them. It was so cool showing Nick some of my cue collection, he likes the same stuff I do. Very fun day.

Hey missing balls and cursing all night on the insane tight pockets while your paying whatever will make you a better player !!!

I was there Thursday night, and played on one of the 9 footers, and one of the barboxes...

I believe the 9 footer I played on was 4 1/8".. I LOVED this table!! I am considering getting RKC to set up my table like this.. I have about 6 weeks until he rolls through Colorado, so I have to ask around to some people to see if this would be a wise move.

The barbox played great as well, but it had new cloth, so everything goes in. The one I played on did not require a magic rack to make a ball on the break every time when playing 9 ball.. If Greg hosts any barbox tourneys, there will be a lot of packages run.

I spoke with bfdlad and Nick Varner for about half an hour, topics ranging from Trudeau to Obamacare. Nick is a reasonable guy, and expresses his opinion well. Of course I expressed my opinion about Trudeau, but what came across from Nick was, regardless of what Trudeau's motivations were, he injected millions into pool. Can't argue with that.

So, my perception of the place was definitely that he was going for upscale, but with the tightened up pockets, is catering to the action crowd as well.. I think Greg is quite a player himself, so that might explain it..

Small number of tables for the action crowd... A buttload of barboxes for league play..... Seems like a good recipe!
