It's been over five years since she was a ranking WPBA pro (2003). She actually quit playing for nearly three years. She had shoulder surgery two years ago and after it healed she got back to playing, a little bit at a time. She has played in exactly one WPBT event in the last five years. Whether she will ever go back on that tour (or what remains of it) is a question only she can answer. I'm thinking at this time in her life, her job has priority. She is fortunate to have a good well paying job and I'm sure she doesn't want to jeopardize that.

This was my first time seeing her play and she plays really really strong. (I was also EXTREMELY impressed with Liz Lovely - such focus!!)

Jay, do you know what Mg does? I didn't know she worked full time and it makes me even more impressed that she grinds out the security of a full time job and still competes in such a dominating fashion...kinda inspiring to me as I feel my job is critical for my security, but I'm often sitting at my desk visualizing a run out...

Believe it or not, Ming is an apprentice electrician, in the union and all. :thumbup2:

Good point. Some are special enough and determined enough to work full-time and still compete at pool at a very high level. Ming is a talented, determined lady and I hope she succeeds in her return to the tour.

Once upon a time, there was this one fellow who was a full-time 7th grade english teacher in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. While he was working that gig, he, remarkably, managed to win four straight US Open Straight Pool Championships. Yes, that would be the late Steve Mizerak.
