I just made the best buy I have ever made on ebay.

I'm a fan of Fats stuff

As many know Fats was in a movie called "The Player". As far as I know, the movie was only released in in one small part of one state.

I have a "one sheet" poster from the movie in excellent condition, which is fairly rare. I have seen a few but not many.

I just bought the full set (I think) of original lobby cards from the movie. Not reprints.........

I have only seen one of the lobby cards before, so I don't know if this is the full set.

Any info anyone has would be appreciated.

I remember a while ago this movie came up and someone here actually saw the movie.

I also have one of the original posters, the Movie was only shown at a few Film Festivals, private showings only. It was never released main stream, in fact there are no copies of the movie in existence, and the only known copy was the original which has not surfaced.

I have no idea what the stuff is worth or how many copies exist, however, my copy of the poster is used and it came from the estate of the Gentleman who was thought to have the film. However, the only thing found among his effects was the framed poster.

That is all I have been able to come up with, if you find any other information please let me know, and I will do the same.

A couple years ago there was an article in Pool & Billiards Mag about the movie. It included a mans name who had owned the theaters it played at, or something. Anyway, the guy claimed to have a few copies of the movie on old film. A friend of mine called him up, and talked to him at length. The guy wanted like $2000 for a film reel of the movie.
 
Here is a pressbook for the movie. Size is 11" x 17.5" and 8 pages. At the top it says International Cinema Pressbook.

I think that's kinda cheap, for something that rare. If you bought the only copy, you could make dvds of it, and share the cost among 100 people. That, at least, would allow the movie to get seen!

I agree Scott, and it certainly doesn't fit with the information I have heard. Since there are no known copies, if the original ever surfaced DVD copies could make some one very wealthy over night, even if the movie sucked!!!!;)
 
I just grabbed another gem.

The full set (8) of promo 8x10's send out to newspapers and magazines.

Now I have the original lobby cards and the promo pics. They go together nicely.

in the mid 90's i bought a set of 8 promo pics for the color of money. reputable and honest seller said there were only a half dozen sets known.
