Missisippi Man Show

The Missisippi Man Show was probably good for the non-pool players, but I enjoyed the show anyhow. When he was hustling the guy in the bar, he went from not being able to make 2 foot shots to jumping balls, curving around balls, and tuff combos. I got my dentures broke hustling a lot better than that... but not good enough I guess. Good way to get killed the way it was written for him. I had to laugh, as I went out a few barroom bathroom windows myself back in the day. I think the show itself will do OK as the viewers get to know more about the cast. I'll watch it again. Johnnyt

It was on last night at 10:00 on History. I actually got bored with the show and changed channels before it ever got to any pool playing. lol

i was flipping channels and caught that show during his hustle. i watched a lil more of the show but turned it after the cat fishing incident .

another reality show where its all set up but i may watch some more just to see if the hustler gets his ass kicked.

been called a hustler more than once in my younger days but being the smooth talker i was i never had to go out the bath room window johnny t.

LMAO! I've had to fight my way out of a few places over pool games and it was never for "hustling" anybody. I just beat everybody and had their money and they didn't like it.

In 1973 I beat the owner of the Gulfport pool hall out of all his money at his brother's bar outside the gate of Keesler AFB in Biloxi MS. At the end of the session he was trying to sell me some jewelry in a bag so he could keep playing. When I told him I wasn't a jeweler and was only going to play for cash, him and his boys tried to beat my ass and take my money. It was me against 3 or 4 of them and it was about 5:30 in the morning. We had been playing since about 9 or 10 the night before. When I finally got out the door, they had a stack of my money that I still had on the table I was sitting at. I still managed to scramble out with about 75% or more of my winnings.

WOW :yikes: This show is just terrible. I felt myself losing I.Q. points as I watched and listened to the accents. I developed a craving to get some chewing tabackie and possibly marry a sibling. The pool part is possibly the worst part of the show and shows it in a terrible light. A loudmouth drunk mark breaking cues after a weasel hustles him according to how it was scripted. The only part that was interesting was the 2 backwoods nitwits from the deep south. I can picture these 2 starting a meth lab sometime later in the show or accidentally shooting each other while trying to open a can of beans. :barf:

Really bad editing. Bad portrayal of bar pool hustling.

Please notice he plays bad with a bar cue but the "better" shots have a dark forearm/jointed cue. Makes a nice jump shot with a jump cue so where did that cue come from?? When the "good" shots are shown the guys face is not shown. Stunt double!!

Completely bogus...

I watched the repeat at 11 and, as predicted, we have yet another "stinker".
That Tugboat Show (filmed on the Great Lakes) that was on a couple years
ago was very realistic, but this piece of guano is piss-poor in comparison.
Once again, the Producers are targeting the "brain dead" viewer.

Welcome to Reality TV...where nothing is real.

But it is cheap to produce. As the producer you can use hacks for everything from acting, writing, directing, camera work and so on, i.e people who can't get work on the few well-produced TV shows that there are.

It took me a couple of arguments to convince my wife (Sr. VP at major bank, Masters Degree, blah, blah) that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are scripted and staffed by professional actors...it ain't Reality. But tens of thousands of people still believe it is. :shakehead:

Matt is a friend of mine, it was no stunt double doing the jump shot....it is a reality show, take it for what it is worth...if you are worried about the audience taking anything serious including the pool playing aspect, then then you are seriosly under estimating them...
