Mississippi Men "Wild River" show on History Channel is about pool hustling. It's on now
in the central time zone. 10:30 pm

I can't get it in Canada with Bell, but definitely can at a later date with a bit of Googling on the Free Streaming sites. I can prolly find it before it may come out with Snot Flix.

I can't wait to see this. Obviously one of my Fav series is Swamp People and this is up the same alley. I bet that it is going to be interesting.

Watched most of show. Some parts of the river lifestyle were kinda of entertaining/interesting, along the same lines of other backwoods type reality shows.
Pool was really the dullest part....sorry. Looked like it should have stayed in the cutting room.

The pool player that did post on AZ re the series, mentioned that pool was involved during a break in shooting due to weather and other circumstances.

So, you're not going to see any playing in upscale venues and such. It's going to be whatever is available at the time.

It was a spur of the moment thing and they decided to include it in the series.

Have to remember that pool wasn't the main theme of the series in the first place. Just an after thought. So, any pool is better than none.

I think it will be interesting to see the games in the back water venues. It's real life with no glitz and glamor involved.

Just my nickels worth cause we don't have pennies in Canada any longer. And compared to USD exchange, only worth 2 cents anyway.

Well ... I hate to say it, but "Call the Coroner, this one's DOA".

The so-called Pool segment looked totally staged, and those
two Froggers couldn't muster a 2-digit IQ between them.
Good news is: They were cast for the remake of Deliverance.

.

Watched it just now, and it was one of the worst shows Ive ever seen. They should have stuck with the other parts of the show and left pool out of it. The barge part was somewhat interesting. It all seemed pretty much scripted and poorly acted out, like most of the other "reality" shows.
As far as the pool part, hopefully that was a one episode only deal, cause if it does anything to the public perception, it wont be good. To me it screamed scumbag douchebags who think they can play. Playing up a con man image to save pool reminds me of the old Vietnam era poster that said "Killing for peace is like fvcking for virginity".

I watched it, Looks like the hustler gets chased and beat down when he sneaks off back to his homemade raft in the previews of next week. Pretty stupid overall, but i like anything pool. I thought the raft part was interesting except in real life you would most likely die the way they were using it. Looked to me they filmed it in back water where there was no current.

Did anyone else notice when he did that draw shot all the sudden he was using a two piece cue with some markings on the shaft near the joint? Also on the Dart style jump shot, the cue had a black ferrule and he had his leg propped up on the corner of the table.:withstupid:

News Flash: All "reality TV" shows are 100% staged. Scripts are written, actors are hired and directors tell everyone what to do. At the cost of TV production (even though reality TV is the cheapest production) you don't risk taking one hour of time and having nothing to show for it.

Do a Search and you'll find I've been preaching this since day one.
The only exception being Deadliest Catch (minus the drama).
No One has the ability to "stage" the Bearing Sea. I flew Anti-Sub
Patrols there for 13 mths. That body of water is F'n Frightening.

As they say, any pub is good pub. The part I like was when he came off the stall playing eight ball made a solid and drew the cue ball and made another solid in the same shot. Then made the game winning eight ball. That's how a hustler would do it :)

yeah the frog hunt lasted a little long. Their a little late on this reality thing which is getting boring.

That's the issue in a nutshell ... IF it were real, it just might be interesting.

The Network "think-tank" geniuses believe we ALL have skulls filled with mush.

I thought the show was pretty entertaining for the most part but I'm no mensa member:D

I guess instead of being a "road player", Matt the cast member is a "raft player":) The guy who the cast member played reminds me a lot of a local guy here. Same kinda loud, C player bully, this is my house bs. There are more episodes of the show coming with more pool in them. I plan on watching it.
