Missouri State 9 ball Bar Box Championship @ Teachers Billiards 7/16-7/18 $1400 1st

Just spoke with Paige, and she said there are still spots open if anyone else wants to get in.

Aaron

1st Andy Quinn $750 + $265
2nd Mike Banks Jr $450 + $165
3rd Steve Boucher $300 + $105
4th Kip Estepp $225
5th Randy Enlow $175
6th can't remember if this was Joe Woolford or Chuck Raulston $175

Thats all the payouts I remember. The added money was $570 (contrary to some opinion that no money was added).

Both Andy and Mike played great - 3 sets between them (winners bracket and then finals) scores were 7-6 7-6 7-6.

Boucher lost his first match and then fought his way thru the loser's side.

Mark Patrick - we missed your donation to the calcutta. It was right up your alley as it was a nickel/dime calcutta.

There was actually action at this event Saturday night. Two country boys came in and played anyone in the house. Wouldn't give their names - they were possibly from Texas or North Carolina. They beat one local and the other player broke even with Banks Jr playing some $100 a game one pocket. They were suppose to come back Sunday and bet more but since this speech came from a pool player, I should have known they weren't going to show up.

Thanks for the updates. You are probably correct as to where the road players were from. I was there Saturday and they are not from the Southeast.

Thanks for the report, watchez. I know exactly NONE of those guys (of course I've seen some of their names mentioned elsewhere). Doesn't sound like any of the Springfield crowd made it up that way.

Nope - they were all scared. Guess they enjoy Phil's 'I take money out of tournaments, not add to them, I charge everyone to get in the door to watch amateur pool, and I abhore gambling mentality' instead.

You are sure one to talk about nickle dime.

As I recall I had you as a partner in a few calcuttas and we hit the board with multiple players then sent our winnings on Kansas in a AZ calcutta when I had all intentions on buying Duke. Nice choice.

Kind of hard to get excited about that calcutta since being on assignment at GM I make about $420 a day. The last guy I bought in a calcutta went for 300 and paid back 1000. Plus we won another 480 waiting for his next match.:eek::sorry::)

So I basically win a calcutta Monday through Friday.
