Hey Josh,
Herea's a thread I started after the first time I went to Mobile in 2004. I guess it hasn't changed much. I went up until this year. It's hard to fade that tournament.

Mike,
I played my first match, Chuck Raulston, At 8:30 PM and was done and won 9-3 by 9:20 PM.. I missed one ball and played near perfect..
Started my 2nd match at about 2 am or so and lost 9-6 to a guy who shouldn't get to 5 on me. I don't think I could have played worse than I did..
Went into the match knowing it was a coaster so I didn't feel I had to play hard.. Found myself down 4-1 and got irritated.. Then I came back 6-5 me and hooked myself on the 7 ball by a bad roll.. Went on to lose 9-6 after missing a few shots after that..
Overall I could of gave myself the last 4 that match.. I felt like torching my cue in the nearest trash can as my next match was a walk "for me if I play my game" as well...
So I waited until 6 am... Had not got a hotel room yet.. My next match was not until another 2 hours and then I was done until 1:30 pm that day.. Had a walk for my 1st 3 matches in the losers. You can locate that on the bracket if you care to look.
Anyway, I was up on only 4 hours of sleep.. and that would put me getting into the room at around 9 am.. Attempted to get a 1 pm check out and got a "so sorry" for each place I called.
Check out was 11 am..
So I would have to pay 60 to get only 2 hours of sleep if that to add on to my 4 hours I only had already.
Just couldn't fade it and forfeited at 6 am after waiting and waiting as I had no idea when I would play..
All in all I screwed myself by losing my 2nd match in the winners as I would of won my 3rd side winners match and been out of there at close to 6 am..
Anyway, It's a brutal event to fade and especially if your on little sleep going into Saturdays play..
I would like to apologise to the people who purchased me in the calcutta.. I don't know if they will see this or not but I did my best to stay awake and try to fade the hours on little sleep... But the hotel deal just took away any chance I had to recover on sleep..
I hope you can understand my side of it. No way did I want to leave but at the same time no way could I fade a whole new day on 2 hours of sleep with only having 4 hours from the last day.
Apologies,
Josh Hillard
