Mobile, AL Breakers Update.

How about Ricky Powers still hanging tough in the winner bracket. I haven't seen Ricky in a while and I don't tink he has been playing a great deal but he is a very tough customer on the small tables.

tourny down to the final few - brackets will be updated again around 3:30 am eastern time for any that are still awake.

does anyone know who won this event or is it still goning on?

They most likely wouldn't, But they need to make the cut off for sign up and paid on the Friday.. Then do the calcutta on Friday as well so play can start early on Saturday..

Either that or get more bar boxes for the event.. But no room for that..

Because not starting the draw until 4:30 or 5 PM on Saturday with 128 players is just so brutal..

I see no reason why they couldnt do this.. They would still make as much money.. It would just make it easier on the players and the hours..

Hey Josh,

Herea's a thread I started after the first time I went to Mobile in 2004. I guess it hasn't changed much. I went up until this year. It's hard to fade that tournament.

Mike,

I played my first match, Chuck Raulston, At 8:30 PM and was done and won 9-3 by 9:20 PM.. I missed one ball and played near perfect..

Started my 2nd match at about 2 am or so and lost 9-6 to a guy who shouldn't get to 5 on me. I don't think I could have played worse than I did..

Went into the match knowing it was a coaster so I didn't feel I had to play hard.. Found myself down 4-1 and got irritated.. Then I came back 6-5 me and hooked myself on the 7 ball by a bad roll.. Went on to lose 9-6 after missing a few shots after that..

Overall I could of gave myself the last 4 that match.. I felt like torching my cue in the nearest trash can as my next match was a walk "for me if I play my game" as well...

So I waited until 6 am... Had not got a hotel room yet.. My next match was not until another 2 hours and then I was done until 1:30 pm that day.. Had a walk for my 1st 3 matches in the losers. You can locate that on the bracket if you care to look.

Anyway, I was up on only 4 hours of sleep.. and that would put me getting into the room at around 9 am.. Attempted to get a 1 pm check out and got a "so sorry" for each place I called.

Check out was 11 am..

So I would have to pay 60 to get only 2 hours of sleep if that to add on to my 4 hours I only had already.

Just couldn't fade it and forfeited at 6 am after waiting and waiting as I had no idea when I would play..

All in all I screwed myself by losing my 2nd match in the winners as I would of won my 3rd side winners match and been out of there at close to 6 am..

Anyway, It's a brutal event to fade and especially if your on little sleep going into Saturdays play..

I would like to apologise to the people who purchased me in the calcutta.. I don't know if they will see this or not but I did my best to stay awake and try to fade the hours on little sleep... But the hotel deal just took away any chance I had to recover on sleep..

I hope you can understand my side of it. No way did I want to leave but at the same time no way could I fade a whole new day on 2 hours of sleep with only having 4 hours from the last day.

Apologies,
Josh Hillard

To clear it up a little on the times.. After my 1st loss I didn't know when I would play again but didn't think it would be 8 am.. So I hung around waiting to play and then get a room..

Found out at 6 am I wouldn't play for another 2 hours and called for a room but could only get a normal 11 am check out..

No way would I wake up if I went to sleep before my 8 am match.. So my only options were to wait and only get 2 hours of sleep for $60 after having only 4 hours the day before or just leave.. I'm the type of person who can't get to sleep in public or in a car so that option was not available.

I debated for 15 min then left.. and hated leaving the whole way home and when I woke up last night.. Just couldn't fade another day on no sleep.

Based on a text a friend recieved, I think it came down to Hennessee and Ronnie Wiseman.

As soon as I find out anymore I'll post it.

Unless I am not seeing it, the MAIN BRACKETS only show down to the final 6 players - 4 on the losers and 2 on the winners.

The phone number to Breakers in Mobile is (251) 341-1117. :)

I would call myself, but I am doing a phone feed right now and can't tie up my spare phone line. :o
